As a nurse, this broke my heart. No one should have to live in conditions like this. I hope they close this place and make sure the residents are moved somewhere safe where they can receive the care and dignity they deserve.”

This place was horrible. I went to visit my Mom every day. She had bruises all over her arms & hands. Blood coming from a fingernail that looked like it was ripped. I wouldn't leave a loved one at this facility. Smile & chat to your face. Doing horrible things when you're not there. One employee went as far to lie about what my Mom has "said" to her. My mother no longer is able to speak. Disgusting. If you don't like the work you are doing, get a job somewhere else. Health care is NOT for YOU

The staff is nasty as can be, had patient call me saying needed help couldn't breathe, tried calling there to get a nurse took 45 minutes to get someone to answer the phone. I understand we're in a blizzard and they are overworked but come on in an a emergency. This place needs to do better with their care and attitudes.

Recently had a family member here. I rate it a 3 primarily because of the case management issues. The staff on 1 east were amazing. Admissions, amazing, administration amazing. Finance, amazing. My relative was there maybe a month or so on and off. The social worker assigned was awful. The Director. Every time I called, she was unavailable (never returning calls, unapproachable when I did see her, she smelled of cigarettes and brushed me off) and I was patched to her "assistant". Her assistant went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable as my relative wasn't doing well and didnt want to return to the facility. She gave me a tour of the facility, found missing personal items and even sent a card sharing condolences after my loved one passed. A printed hand written card with well wishes. The facility is outdated but good for people sent for a short period of time. There are no phones in the rooms so unless your loved one has a phone they are able to communicate on, it's difficult to connect with loved ones. Understandably the floors are busy, but, being able to reach our loved one is essential to their moral and quality of life. If it weren't for the amazing departments listed above, I would have pulled my family member from the facility. Each department greeted us with compassion and education and exquisite bedside manner, aside from the assigned social worker. 1 east nurses and aids need more recognition. Kudos to the compassionate individuals in your facility and hopefully those who aren't as compassionate, take notes from others so that each family in the future, is met with more support than I was at first.

I had a family member of mine stay at Hudson Valley after being hospitalized. The nurses on the first floor were good, I felt my loved one was taken care of. However, her social worker introduced herself as the director and she was unreachable, left several messages with the receptionist for her and never got returned calls. We found her to be inconsiderate and unsympathetic. Very sad to be treated with such unprofessionalism by a director nonetheless. I would rate this place much higher if the building was clean which it is not. How does management allow the place to look like it does?? The carpets are stained, the furniture in the front entrance is old and soiled, there is no trace of cleaning products being used. I would not recommend based off of unsanitary conditions.
