My wife Galina and I have been living in this complex Willow Manor At Cloppers Mill since October 2020. We really enjoy it here. The complex is well-maintained and situated in a wonderful location right next to a forest. The office staff Our Manager, Elaine Jones, Assistant Manager, Ana Espinosa & Maintenance, John Bolin are highly professional and always helpful in resolving any issues; moreover, they are very friendly and pleasant people to interact with. It is always a pleasure to communicate with them.

As a healthcare professional who works exclusively with older adults, I rarely write public reviews - especially critical ones. However, my recent experience at Willow Manor at Clopper’s Mill was so unprofessional and troubling that I feel compelled to share it. I represent a licensed medical provider group that delivers home-based and on-site primary care services covered by patients’ insurance; these are healthcare services specifically designed to benefit older adults, many of whom live in communities like this one. Upon arriving at the property today, I was buzzed in at the front entrance and politely greeted by the assistant property manager. I waited patiently in the front lobby for a brief conversation with Elaine Jones, the property manager. What followed was frankly one of the most disrespectful interactions I’ve encountered in my years working in healthcare and older adult services. Ms. Jones questioned why I was even on the property, interrogated how I got in, and loudly implied I was trespassing - all while a prospective resident sat just feet away. Rather than engage with basic professional courtesy or inquire about the nature of our services, Ms. Jones dismissed me outright and made it clear I was unwelcome. This kind of treatment is not only deeply unprofessional; it raises serious concerns. If a licensed healthcare provider offering critical healthcare services to older adults is treated this poorly, it begs the question: How are residents themselves being treated behind closed doors? If Ms. Jones represent the status quo for customer service, I emphatically urge older adults and their families to look elsewhere - where they’ll invariably feel welcomed and treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. Older adult communities should be built on trust, respect, and a shared commitment to residents’ health and well-being. Sadly, that was nowhere to be found in this encounter. I sincerely hope this incident is not representative of the community as a whole. But if you are a family member considering this community for a loved one - or a professional looking to partner in good faith - I strongly encourage you to ask deeper questions about how people are treated here. This was not just a misunderstanding; it was a total lack of professionalism and basic human decency. And that has no place in senior living.
