I don't live there but I know about the HOA kicking out a teen who lost both his parents and the grandparents who are a resident took him in. I am well aware that this is a 55+ community but this is an emergency situation. The kid had nowhere to go.

I would give fewer stars if I could. This situation shows the issues with HOAs and why they should be abolished. How can they hear about a child who lost both parents and then refuse to let him stay with his grandmother? Did anyone outside the HOA committee speak up, or is the HOA just being petty and using their power unfairly?

Heartless community that was ready to kick out a teenage orphan staying with his Grandmother after losing both parents two weeks apart. If it wasn’t for public backlash they would have surely followed through.

Shocking that this community would kick out a 15-year-old who lost both his parents instead of letting him live with his grandparents there. The community should be rallying around to compassionately support this family. This HOA is truly heartless.
