Our team at Visiting Angels Prescott had the good fortune to attend a virtual dementia training at Highgate Senior Living in Prescott. This training changed our lives professionally and personally. We want to help educate others too. A big thank you to Amazing Kim Moir and her team for everything they are doing helping people who need help and to educate us all! 1 by 1 we CAN make a difference!

The day finally arrived when my mother, Carolyn, needed to move from basic assisted living into memory care. The staff at Highgate, from management down to the maintenance guys (who surprised us by moving her furniture), made the transition as seamless as possible. Kim even found a free reclining chair for us to use in mom’s room. Once in memory care, she was treated lovingly. Brittney and Antonio were especially attentive.<br><br>Sadly, mom has passed away, but her final days were about as good as they could be. We will always recommend Highgate if we are asked about assisted living options in Prescott

I am forever grateful to have placed my mom in Highgate Senior Living's Manor Care two years ago. The entire staff--from reception, executive director & administration, to nursing/care partners, dining room, and housekeeping/maintenance--the positivity, expertise, and kindness doesn't stop. Having recently celebrated her 103rd birthday...my mom continues to be well cared for and I value the ongoing upbeat environment every visit. (Photo: my mom Helen, with care partner Brigitte.) My mother has been a resident of the Cottage at Highgate for almost 10 months. I have never met a caregiver that hasn’t been the model of patience and grace. I am so pleased with the care that she is receiving I would highly recommend considering Highgate if you are looking for a safe and caring place for your loved one.

Finding Highgate Prescott Lakes was a godsend for both me and my mother (who has vascular dementia). Mom is still very mobile, so it was difficult for me, at first, to accept her moving into The Cottage, knowing that she would no longer be allowed to go out for longer walks on her own. But, Highgate came to the rescue! Knowing how much these walks mean to Mom, they find a staff-member to accompany her as often as they can. Mom also loves to be outside in the courtyard, so they bring her meals out there to her. They truly do their best to make every resident as comfortable as possible. And how this move has helped me goes beyond words. THEY made the decision to remove Mom's phone so that I didn't have to. Their expertise in this area, and truly ALL areas of dementia, have given me my life back. I still visit Mom often, but know that she is very well taken care of in my absence. She no longer relies on me for everything. She has a new family that is much better equipped to deal with all of the changes she is going through than I am. Besides, the facility is beautiful, very well laid-out, offers exceptional food (which Mom used to almost always complain about at her previous facilities), is always very clean and well-staffed. When I visit I am treated like family, too, and I love them as if they were part of mine! They are very in touch with their residents, and always share with me any recent changes or needs.<br>They even take her for walks outdoors as often as they can. There are so many other little things that Highgate offers, you really must take a tour and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
