Went to visit a family member there, it is nasty. In the 30 mins I was there i saw 3 German cockroaches and a baby one crawling on the wall and floor. Shouldn't have to play squish the bugs. It is as bad as the Crack hotels on us-19. Paint peeling, scuff marks all over baseboards and walls, toilet kept running every 5 mins, no remote for the TV. The smell alone will make you not wanna stay, you would think it would smell like bleach to keep things clean and sanitary. They didnt have a walker for his use so he was stuck in bed. Says private rooms on the website that's not true either, the room is saw looked like a big room with 3/4 of a wall 2ppl on one side and 2 on the other with just curtains. They had separate doors for both sides of the room.😓

I have been a nurse for 15 years and I have never seen such horrors as when my father was briefly admitted to this sorry excuse for a nursing and rehab facility. For starters, the moment you walk in it reeks of ammonia and human waste. One of the most concerning things that occurred within the first 24 hours was the facility placing a PICC line (an invasive and consented procedure) into my father whom already had a semipermanent central line placed prior to his admission. They never bothered to assess him upon arrival or they'd have seen it. They certainly saw both lines during the xray for placement conformation and never bothered to call to disclose their error. I left town for 22 hours and returned to find the line placed. What's maybe worse is that the staff called me upon admission stating I needed to give verbal consent for vaccines and treatment due to the encephalopathy my father was experiencing, but they somehoe felt it was appropriate to allow him to consent himself for this invasive procedure.

This place has few good attributes from a resident perspective. The food is ok and the therapy is good. The care is mediocre, when you press the button for assistance (if it is working right) it will take up to 30 minutes.for someone to respond (actually happened to me) please know your medications because your nurse may not be reliable. Just last night my nurse failed to give me my medication correctly. They may deny it but I experienced it. When I expressed my concerns after only three days of residency I got lots of apologies. Some improvements but did this need to happen in the first place is my question? FYI I have private insurance.

I am writing this review for a dear friend was at this center for three weeks. She dictated to me. She never missed any physical therapy appointments and scored 99% on the machines. I'm 80 years old and very high functioning. The nursing staff was horrible to me. They messed up my medication everyday. They simply don't care. I rarely slept the whole time I was there. They did not listen to me at all. I don't remember ever seeing a doctor but was told by a family member I had seen him once. He cut all my medication in half the first night I was there. It was dirty, and smelled like urine. My room mate and I had no bathroom so we had to use other residents bathrooms which were dirty. There was a large cockroach in the bathroom I had to use. I was supposed to be released after two weeks but was held against my will for an additional week. I will not ever return to this facility ever again.

My grandmother stayed at St Pete rehab and the experience was truly wonderful. The therapy team was outstanding and very patient, encouraging, and always going above and beyond to help her regain strength and confidence. We were amazed at the progress she made with their support. Thank you! The activities staff are awesome ! They offered creative, fun, and engaging programs that kept her spirits high and gave her something to look forward to each day.
