Exceptionally disappointing and disturbing management action to suddenly, with less than 24 hours notice, remove a kind and capable caregiver who has spent 2 days/24 hours weekly with a cognitively clear but physically challenged 96 year old in care with BrightStar since January, 2026.

There was no notice, no farewell, no closure for either the carer or the cared for. This was extremely upsetting, extremely, to the individual in care as well as the family.

Several hours elapsed before calls to the agency were returned. When directly questioned by the author of this review, a representative of the agency laid the sudden notification at the feet of the caregiver. The family believes this to be highly unlikely.

The agency has received tens of thousands of dollars for these services in this time period. The management staff presented professionally and confidently in the beginning and the caregivers themselves ranged from good to excellent, with management partnering with the individual and family to find needed services and caregivers. The licensed professional caregivers were generally particularly impressive. There were occasional lapses in communication and a few dropped balls, understandable and almost inevitable in these situations involving people, but nothing previously like this.

This situation could have been proactively and thoughtfully addressed. It was not.

The first notice of the situation was received on the Sunday afternoon prior to the caregivers previously scheduled 7:00 am Monday visit. The same caregiver had left as usual at 7:00 pm the previous Friday.

Despite the history, relationships, and unfailing payments, the agency left the individual and family feeling bereaved and bereft.

There is a marked opportunity for improvement here. This review is left in hopes it will receive due attention from those able to learn from it so that others will, in future, be less likely to suffer in this way.

Brightstar management, the shame falls on you but the pain on those who put their trust in you.

I am so disappointed. I had previously written two separate five star reviews and today my 96 yr old mother is withdrawing from BrightStar services. Her long term twice a week caregiver was withdrawn from her case and she was notified by text from a scheduler with less than 24 hours notice and no opportunity to say goodbye. This is a heartless policy.
I'm working on alternate arrangements for her because we've both lost trust in BrightStar. My mother has been doing so well and truly living independently again. I was so disappointed to hear her tell me and my husband on the phone that she is overwhelmed by this, feels betrayed, and "maybe it would just be easier to go to Heaven."
When I finally had a call returned from management, I was told repeatedly that my mother should know she’s not the only one to have this happen. It happens all over this field. Well, not only does that not help my mother and I with our feelings of betrayal, it also shows that BrightStar is just like the others.
Can’t really recommend them over any of the others now.

I was leaving town for five days and needed nursing care for my mom while I was away. She is medically complex and I wanted someone to check on her every morning and evening. BrightStar was able to accommodate our request to have the same nurse for all the visits to make my mom feel more comfortable. We were lucky enough to get Nurse Sandra. She did an amazing job making my mom feel safe and care for. We even needed an emergency visit and Nurse Sandra was there within an hour to help! I was very conflicted about leaving my mom and it makes my heart so happy to have had someone here taking excellent cate of my mom in my absence!

Brightstar Care has provided nursing care for my 9 year old grandson for several years. He has high medical needs and requires home and school nursing care 24/7. The nurses providing his care over the years have been tremendous!! Tina, Anee, Lashel, Kim, Margaret and Nam are the best in the business! While providing professional services, these nurses have become a great part of our family. We trust, appreciate and love them. Zach adores them and so do we!
Additionally the scheduling staff at BrightStar - Chassity, Amanda and Stephanie - go above and beyond to see that Zach’s needs are met when our schedule needs change. I cannot say enough positive things about the staff from the top to the bottom. We had used other nursing agencies in the past but are so lucky to have found BrightStar!

I am very grateful for your patience and support.
In fact, it is not easy to find actually all of those remarkable characteristics together in one person and place.
I feel blessed by God for having the opportunity to share with this honorable staff.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart!
