The wonderful people at Gateway helped my husband David to recover completely. David had heart surgury and then was sent to Gateway. His personal Physical Therapist was so patient and helped get walking again. The nurses and workers personally cared for his every need. He came home not needing oxygen. I believe this wonderful place really cares about hurting people.

I don't want to even give this place 1 star. Worst place ever. I wouldn't even let my dog go there. They do not care about the residents there. The patient rooms are filthy and smell. They did not care about my mother at all. They just wanted a paycheck. Did not properly clean her. It was just a total mess. Poor communication. Nasty nurs4s to the patients. Please do not send your ove ones here.

I do not recommend this place under any circumstances. The experience was truly horrendous. Patients receive no real rehabilitation. The hygiene conditions are unacceptable, especially considering that most of the patients are elderly and unable to care for themselves. My father was admitted to this facility, and I found him in a terrible condition: his head and face were covered with a severe dermatitis. He was also speaking incoherently, as if he were confused or mentally impaired. I later discovered they were giving him a sleeping medication, but I was never told which one. After bringing him home and stopping all medications, his condition improved significantly. Today, my father is fully aware of what he says and has regained mental clarity. This proves how harmful that place was to both his physical and mental health. What’s even more troubling is that in order to be admitted there, patients are required to sign over their financial benefits. This makes the situation even more shameful. To be fair, there are a few staff members who are truly kind and dedicated, but unfortunately, they are the minority. Most of the personnel show no interest, empathy, or commitment to the well-being of the patients. To all families: do not bring your loved ones to this place. I wouldn’t recommend it even to the worst person in the world.

If you genuinely care about your family or loved ones, I strongly advise staying away from this facility! It is an absolute disaster, particularly in the south wing, where residents are treated poorly. The staff lacks compassion and empathy. While Nurse Tawonda and Nurse Isabella may appear friendly, their true nature is quite the opposite. They speak to patients in dehumanizing ways, using derogatory remarks and telling them things like "go find a life," "nobody cares about you," and "hurry up and die." The nursing assistants provide minimal care, often neglecting to give residents showers or change their diapers. They rarely interact with the residents and display aggressive behavior. Some even refuse to provide care for certain individuals. Residents often stay awake at night, wandering the facility and experiencing distress while the nurses take naps at their desks, in residents' rooms, or even outside in their cars. The situation is truly appalling and frightening. This facility needs to be investigated, and those responsible for this neglect should face serious consequences. It's an environment where serious issues are being overlooked, and it's alarming to think of what is happening behind closed doors.
