Very upset with this facility. My mom arrived on a Sunday after her hospital stay for knee replacement. I realize that there is no therapy on the weekend. However, no physical therapy happened on Monday OR Tuesday and now she has developed a blood clot. There is no excuse for this. She is 87 years old and therapy should have started on MONDAY. She is not there to just sit in a room and wait for someone to wait on her. She needs to be up and moving and unless someone is there to make sure that happens she is happy to wait (she has little pain tolerance and won't do it on her own because it "hurts") We were told on Sunday that this place was very aggressive on therapy and she would have occupational and physical therapy twice a day. She has received one session of occupational so far. She has no cognitive issues. Very upsetting and disappointing. I expected better.

Please do not send your loved one here if they have any psych issues. You may be told that they can handle them but they cannot and will not be able to. It may be fine for regular people without psych issues but they will not handle those that are difficult. I heard aids say they would not take care of my sister, only one was able to really deal with her, probably because she had a little bit of compassion for somebody with mental issues. They would not regulate her diabetes which was dangerous to her physical health. She was placed in another facility and within two weeks was better. No excuse for this. My mom was at St Ed's for 6 years and they seem to take care of her but that was years ago. Please send your loved ones with psych issues somewhere else!!!

I recently visited this facility hoping to tour it for a family member, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When we arrived at what I believe was a reasonable time, neither Marjorie at the front desk nor Jacqueline from admissions were available to assist us they both stated they “didn’t have time.” We were not offered any information about the facility, services, or next steps, which made the visit feel unwelcoming and unprofessional. For something as important as choosing care for a loved one, I expected a much higher level of attentiveness and courtesy. Based on this experience, I will be looking into other facilities that are more accommodating and respectful to potential residents and their families.

My mother has stayed at several rehab facilities and one assisted living facility prior to her stay at Saint Edward’s in Fairlawn. She has been there since June 2025, first as a rehab patient and then she remained there for long term care. She passed away peacefully yesterday morning, 2/15/25. I wish I knew about St. Edwards two years ago. It has been the best of all the places she has been. The other rehab facilities she stayed at were all terrible experiences. Please don’t be fooled by beautifully updated buildings like we were. My mom was miserable waiting for hours for someone to care for her at these places, sometimes being stuck in bed all day and/or waiting until noon to be cleaned up and then she would end up back in the hospital with yet another UTI. Also, when I needed assistance with something or paperwork completed, I had to hound her assisted living facility over and over again to get a response. This was never the case at St. Edwards. Any time I emailed a question I would get an immediate response. She told me repeatedly that St. Edward’s gave her the best care of all the places she had been. The staff, from the front office, to the nurses and the aides and therapists were always so kind to me and my siblings and so quick to respond to any questions we had. They lovingly took care of my mom until the very end. I witnessed it over and over and my mom never had a negative thing to say about her time there. I could see by the way my mom looked at her caregivers how much she loved them and I could also see how much they loved and cared for her. A very important bonus was that she was able to attend mass 3 times a week. The staff always made sure they got her there. 5 stars are not enough. St. Edwards is a 10!

I see a lot of negative reviews here. All I can say is my girlfriends mom as been in the memory care part of St. Edwards for almost 8 years and is presently in hospice. This is a very, very terrible time for both my girlfriend and I. The nurses and aids and everyone that works at St. Edward have shown us so much kindness. They consider my girlfriends mother part of their family and they are losing a member of their family too. I have spend a lot of time recently at the facility and I have a new understanding of what it's like to work at the Village. The staff truly does care so much for the residents and the families of this facility. It's also the cleanest most well run place I have come across. I'd give St. Edwards 10 stars if I could.
