About Villa Springfield Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center

Villa Springfield Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is a 110-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Springfield, Ohio. It serves patients recovering from acute events like fractures and infections, as well as those requiring ongoing residential care.

Families consistently praise the facility's therapy and nursing staff, particularly citing their training, patience, and attentiveness. Several reviewers highlighted successful recoveries, one mother's chronic foot ulcer finally healed after transfer from another facility, and post-surgical rehabilitation patients reported excellent care and professional, kind staff. One family wrote that staff "went out of their way" to ensure quality care. Families also appreciated leadership responsiveness; when issues arose, the executive director addressed them seriously. Communication during visiting restrictions was also noted as a strength, with nursing staff using personal phones to keep families informed.

However, reviews reveal significant inconsistencies in care quality and staffing responsiveness. Several families reported serious lapses: unresponsive call buttons, missed medications (including critical glaucoma drops), inadequate wound care, and in one case, a patient found in unsafe conditions shortly after admission. One family cited staffing shortages and what they perceived as rudeness from office and administrative staff. These critical reviews suggest the facility struggles with reliability despite its capable team members.

Villa Springfield holds a 4.6/5 rating across 123 Google reviews, reflecting both strong individual care experiences and persistent operational concerns that prospective residents and families should investigate directly.

My experience for the last 6 months has been absolutely Horrible. My husband in in their long term unit.
Had i known Villa has 1 out of 5 rating with Social Securiy Administration, I would never put him there.
They have very rude office staff all the way up to the Administration. Very condescending and insensitive to anyone experiencing this situation for the first time.
Most of the nurses have been my only saving grace. Helpful. Kind and understanding. There are a couple that don't care and are there to collect pay check.
My husband lost a tremendous amount of weight after being admitted. His physical health dropped to practically an invalid. His mental health has also declined
