Some of the staff was very nice and helpful. Others were not. Definitely a few times they didn’t follow through with important things. We didn’t mind the minor. This was a rehab stay for about 2 months. Lost all my dad’s clothes. Everyone said they’d check the laundry room. He came home with zero clothes. Didn’t matter if clothes were labeled. It’s the middle of the winter and he wears shorts. Should have been fairly easy to find. Also all car shirts in XL and XXL. Don’t bring clothes. They’ll get lost. 6-8 pairs of shorts lost and same for shirts. Time to order new clothes.

This was one of the worst experiences my family has had to deal with. Besides from the front desk person and maybe a couple of nurses the care that my grandmother received while here was minimal. She was here for rehab after a stoke and she would go hours without being checked on, we had to wait 45 min for someone to help her to the bathroom and multiple times they would just wheel her out to the main area and leave her there. She is lactose intolerant and they gave her dairy almost daily although on her food sheet it said in bold letters. It was such a disappointing experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone, they aren't attentive and don't treat the patients like people.

My experiences with having my father at this facility as both a short term patient on the first floor and now as a long term patient on the second floor has been a great relief. I have visited other facilities, when other family members have needed short term rehab, where when you get on that floor it is difficult to find any staff as there may only be one person assigned to that whole floor. My experiences visiting Bear Mountain are the exact opposite. I have come by to pick up my father for appointments in the mornings as well as afternoons and have visited him with family members on the weekends and I regularly encounter a flurry of staff in the hallways either delivering meals or cleaning rooms or handling laundry and I typically find at least two staff members behind the counter at the Nurse's station. I have never had to struggle to find a staff member when needed. The staff has always been friendly and responsive to any concerns or issues like his TV remote going missing, likely having got caught up in his bed linens when being taken to be washed. The many times I have witnessed the patience and friendly gentle care not only towards my father but to other floor residents gives me great comfort. Robin Wongera who leads the Team on the 2nd floor has been especially kind and helpful with my fathers care. As many do, I was concerned about my father being under someone else's care long term, however, he is so happy being there and seems far more engaged than I have seen when he was at home with much less stimulus and community. I cannot speak to what others may have experienced or commented in their reviews, I can only say that in the 4+ years my father has been under the care of the staff at Bear Mountain he has actually shown cognitive improvements and is now actually eager to participate in outings from the facility to attend family gatherings, which in the past when living at home, he would always defer citing being too tired to go. Whenever someone asks me about my father and his stay at this facility, I sing its praises and how truly happy he is and always indicate that if they are ever in need of this type of short term or long term care that I highly recommend this facility.

My mom was recovering there after her surgery, and stayed there for over a month. I found Bear Mountain to be the right choice for her recovery. The care was excellent, teams were caring and friendly, management was efficient and mom loved it there. Karen and other nice lady at front desk were very kind and helpful, Pranavi Singh from therapy and the whole team were amazing, kitchen crew were very nice too. I strongly recommend this place. They definitely deserve five star for their services.
