I am forever grateful to the staff at Valley Manor Montrose for the love, care, and support they gave my beloved aunt during the years of her residency. She certainly felt safe and well cared for and laughter and joy was part of her life at Valley Manor. In addition the staff always helped my aunt to be dressed nicely, well groomed, and ready to go on outings when we visited. Our family feels Valley Manor was a wonderful home for our aunt during her final years. Thank you Valley Manor. Your kindness will be remembered.

In seeing the negative reviews, I felt I had to write about the care my stepdad received while he was a resident at Valley Manor. Everyone at VM was very caring and kind, even though he was a bit of a difficult resident. They were in his room constantly checking in on him and responded very quickly when he had incidents, from incontinence to falling (due to him not signaling the staff to get him up as he should have been doing). They also alerted both my mother and I very quickly when anything happened or if they observed something abnormal or changing with his condition. They worked with our family as care levels needed to be increased, made every effort to contact us and keep us updated, and also asked for our input when he was being non-compliant in many situations. We (and He) never felt that he was not cared for and we never saw any negligence at any time although they were very busy. Many of the staff went the extra mile for him and we really appreciate all the care he received until he passed away. The only reason for a 4 star is that the food is not too good, could use some improvement.

My father has been residing there for a couple of weeks now. We have had multiple negative interactions with staff regarding my fathers care. Today is absolutely over the top though. My father had to spend several hours in a soiled diaper today (as many as 4 hours by his accounts and is not the first time this has happened). That problem in and of itself is just horribly unacceptable but on top of that the staff has "lost all of his clothes" so tonight, after being cleaned up he was put to bed in just a diaper, another horribly grotesk treatment of and elderly physically impaired human being. I wish I could say these two things were the end of it but it wasn't. My dads normal bedtime is 8pm, but at 8 he had no bedding, so here he is in only a diaper trying to go to bed and has no bedding. 2 hours later after several interactions he finally receives his bedding while the cna is cussing at us saying "what am i an beeping housekeeper now". 2 hours of us asking for bedding... there's just no words to explain how irresponsible and neglectful this is. When asked who we need to speak to in order to ensure this doesn't happen again, the staff member chuckled and gave us a piece of paper to fill out. This staff members reaction tells us that no one will be held accountable in this situation. Its absolutely disgusting that a place would enable there employees to believe this sort of neglect will be overlooked and go unpunished. This is incredibly neglectful treatment. I know if i was treating my father in this manor in my own home there would legal ramifications and imagine it goes the same for a place of business that by all intents and purpose, promises and guarantees a safe place for its residents. I can't imagine how many other residents get treated this way or even worse.
