Most of the staff are friendly, and a few workers were exceptionally kind, professional, and genuinely caring — though unfortunately, they no longer work there. However, the food quality is very poor. After 6:00 p.m., there seems to be only one staff member taking care of about eight residents, which is concerning.

I visited my aunt today but was not allowed to go in. At first, I was told it was due to COVID restrictions, but then I was told it was actually because of the holiday. The mixed explanations left me very confused. I believe Christmas Day should be a time when families are encouraged to visit their loved ones in nursing homes, not turned away.

My mother with IBS issues and dementia was given excellent care. No where else was she consistently clean, well fed, and attended to with compassion. The CNAs, med techs and nurses are a cut above other senior communities with great attitudes, conversational, accommodating personal needs. The CNAs keep the homes immaculate, cook all the meals, and provide personal care - they never watch TV. My father who has end stage arthritis chronic pain is well cared for as he requires round the clock medication. The monitor all his needs. When your loved ones are at the stage of being totally dependent on personal care, and their days consist of mostly sleeping and tv, this is a very positive option.

I wanted to thank you and the staff for the extra care you show toward my mom. I was pleasantly surprised to see a smile on her face when I visited. She told me that one of the “girls” took her outside to sit on the deck for an hour. It meant so much to her and she commented how much she has missed being outside. I also noticed her manicure and painted nails and complimented her on how pretty they looked. She was visibly pleased. These small, but special acts make such a difference for her and add joy to her day. I feel like we made the right choice in moving her there and wanted you to know how much I appreciate you and your staff.

Our mother moved from an independent living facility into Tysons Woods in 2019. When we couldn’t visit during COVID 19, they kept us updated with calls, texts, and helped with FaceTime.. They took great care of our mother, especially during the pandemic. It’s hard being out of town, but we never worried about her safety or care. The staff was exceptionally patient and attentive to her needs, providing individualized care. From the day to day care to the small personalized touches, Tysons Woods went above and beyond, and we would recommend them to anyone looking for care for a loved one.
