My husband & I have lived at Truewood in Vancouver for 3 years & we are very happy here. The people that live here and the staff are very friendly. There are many activities to participate in. One of our favorites is Bean Bag Baseball. And I really enjoy the quilting/ crafting group. We are happy to be here.

It feels like home living in a comfortable neighborhood setting w/ washer, dryer & fireplace in each apartment. It’s an independent living community w/ many activities where you can choose to be as active as you like.

My husband and I have been content residents since this community was known as Bedford, about 5 years. My pros are the house cleaning and the ladies who do that and the efforts that Chef Faron goes through to plan tasty, nutritious meals in spite of the rising cost of food. His holiday meals are the best! Also, having an indoor pool is a favorite of my grandchildren. The only con I have is that things do break down. I’m glad I don’t have to pay to get them fixed. The current management tries very hard to keep things running as they should, but they should not be blamed for poor upkeep of the facilities by previous owners. The staff are very sweet and patient. My fellow residents are a fun bunch. This is a very good community to make your home.

The relationship between residents and staff cannot be beat! The community is more like a family, and you can tell by the way everyone interacts with each other. Staffing turnover is also super low, which is definitely not the norm. As for the rooms, after looking at other floor plans around the city, Truewood has some of the best square footage and amenities. With a fireplace, full kitchen, washer and dryer in the unit, and private balconies/patios, this is the best location for independent living. I would recommend them to anyone.

How is it legal to keep two entire floors of elderly people with mobility issues trapped for almost a month? Is it ok for them to miss holidays with their families? Dr. appointments? Lunch with their friends? Walks outside for exercise and fresh air? The dining room for dinner? The grocery store?<br><br>That's exactly what's happening at Truewood with a single broken elevator for two entire wings of the building. Enough is enough! It was an emergency last month, it's an emergency now. Fix it!!
