My father is getting exceptional care as well as love and support. The nurses and nurses aides treat him like family. We are so blessed by them and this facility! I can’t say enough good!

Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285-bed long-term care facility in Wilmore, Kentucky, providing skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services to veterans from all branches of the armed forces. Since opening on August 25, 1991, it has served more than 3,656 veterans and is the largest facility operated by the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs.
The center offers a broad range of rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Thomson-Hood is dedicated to promoting excellence in the care of Kentucky veterans, with emphasis placed on preserving residents' rights and helping veterans maintain the highest possible level of independence.
The facility was Kentucky's first state-run veteran's nursing home. It was renamed in 1998 to honor LTC George Thomson, a World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veteran whose lobbying efforts helped secure funding for the center, and Beatrice Hood, the center's first administrator.

My husband couldn't have have better care anywhere, and when hospice was needed they made the transition as gentle and respectful as can be.

Retirement home for veterans of the military. Secure facility - family and friends of residents, volunteers, and employees only. Staff care about the health and wellness of their residents. PPE may be required.

I couldn't be more pleased or impressed. The admissions coordinator, Sherry has been more than professional, caring and understanding of the needs and care of my grandfather who is a 100 year old WWII vet. If you're looking for a great place to care for a Veteran of our great country, this is it.

My father is in this place and he is a quadriplegic every time I have been there they have been great to him and everyone else I seen in there. If you are looking for a place for a loved one I would recommend this place. They are great to our veterans.
