We wanted a location to be closer to our children as we advance in age. This was a great move as we now enjoy our children and grandchildren in their life experiences. The Woodlands provided that location. Additionally, we chose the Woodlands as it is family owned (versus management operated), it is small (131 residents) and those residents (our neighbors) bring a wealth of life experiences not one social group. The management and staff provide services such as maintenance and a dining experiences of the highest quality. The amenities (concerts, classes, transportation, off campus visits) are extraordinary. There are plenty of opportunities for extracurricular activity participation. We have adjusted to apartment living after 50 years of house living. All in all we feel we made a great decision in coming to the Woodlands and have adjusted well in our next phase of life. The Woodland owners and staff have contributed to making our adjustment a relatively easy one. Kudos to THE WOODLANDS. We are both pleased and happy to be here. Make sure you visit as part of your life adjustment decision making!!!!!<br>Jim/Joanna Sullivan

An impressive facility, nicely decorated and well-kept. The programs look extensive, varied and interesting and the grounds are quite nice. Food and its service were very good. Lots of appeal on all fronts.

Woodlands retirement community in Fairfax Virginia is a superb venue. More like a country club than a retirement community. The amenities and common spaces are luxurious. The food I have sampled is outstanding. The Executive Director Ellen Limburg is knowlegeable and straight forward. Finally the current residents can be counted on to provide a candid positive evaluation of the community.
