I witness one lady named Tiffany cussing some other worker in the dietary staff out then a Mexican lady named Martha in Dietary goes out historically crying in front of my grandma demanding answers if her food is good or not my grandmother is in her last stages why stress her out even more thats very unprofessional and poor customer service but then I hear about the lady that refused to serve my grandmother that frozen food gets fired?!?!?! Make that right thats a retaliation because she refused to allow your residence to get sick

My husband was admitted to the Plaza for a two week stay. He has Parkinson’s and had been hospitalized with a bad illness. He needed to go to rehab afterwards to learn to walk again. He underwent intense therapy and was walking again in no time. The Plaza was wonderful. The aides and nurses took very good care of him. He was bathed every other day and all his needs were met! They laughed and talked with him and made rehab which he underwent 6 days a week, not so bad! I would recommend The Plaza to anyone! We both enjoyed watching the little Prairie Dogs in the courtyard! They were so cute! Special thank you to nurse Travis and aide Chrissy you were awesome and we appreciated you more than you know!

I’ve had a really positive experience with this facility and feel it’s important to share a more balanced perspective. Caring for people—especially with such a wide range of needs—is incredibly complex, and no two residents or families have the exact same experience. While I’ve seen some negative reviews, I think it’s only fair to consider that situations can vary greatly depending on individual expectations, communication, and circumstances. Sometimes challenges come from the difficulty of the situation itself, not necessarily a lack of care or effort from the staff. What stands out to me is that there are many staff members who have been here for years, and that says a lot. Longevity like that doesn’t happen in a place that doesn’t care. From what I’ve personally seen, the team genuinely tries their best and shows compassion toward the residents. No facility is perfect, but I believe this one truly cares about the people they serve. I would encourage others to look at all sides and, if possible, visit and form their own opinion.

This place would get a zero if I could give it that. My mother has dementia. She was being placed in there for rehab.And then transitioned to long term nursing care. Within a week, I get a call that my mother has had a fall and cut skin on her arms. I was never given a paper incident report, when I went by to see how she was the nurse in charge, christy, became defensive, saying she was not there.She did not see it and tried to throw the night nurse under the bus. My mother at that time was not in her room. So I asked her, where is my mother? And she said she might be at rehab.Go check the gym. My mother was not at the gym.So I came back and said my mother is not in her room.She is not in the gym.Where is my mother? Christy, just shrugged her shoulders and walked away.Didn't seem to care.I had to find another nurse to help me locate my mother in the dining room. A week later, I get a call from the same nurse, who claims that my mother had a violent outburst and attacked some of the nurses. My mother is eighty four years old and not very mobile. I again got no paper incident report. Monday.I get a phone call from a social worker there named abigail, who proceeds to tell me that they can no longer keep my mother, and they want to send her to a psychiatric facility. Because my mother was transitioning to long-term care, they legally are supposed to give me a 30 day. Notice and give me a paper notice of the reason why they want to remove her. They did neither. Yesterday I went to see how my mom was. She was calm but obviously confused, and my mother mentioned that someone raped her, claiming, there are three boys in the room next.Door to her that come into a room and do this. The nurse was informed of this, and they opened up an investigation. My mother was transported to covenant hospital for a rape kit, and when covenant was done and told the plaza that they were ready for her to go back, the plaza told the hospital. We are not taking her back. Essentially, dumping my mother at the hospital. The administrator, Kate, and the social worker now are ducking, both mine and my brother's calls.They refuse to answer, they refuse to call us back. We have both contacted the obudsman office, and have contacted the state regulatory board and made reports. If you have family in this place, transfer them now. If you are thinking of putting family in this place, look elsewhere. This place needs to be shut down.

My granddad, Jerry, spent time at The Plaza at Lubbock, and it meant a lot to our family. The staff always made him feel welcome, and he genuinely enjoyed the friendships he built while he was there. It gave us peace of mind knowing he was in a place where people truly cared.
