After 56 years in Georgia, my mom decided to move to Portland to be closer to us. It's hard to express how fortunate we feel to have her safely and happily situated in a beautiful apartment at Park Danforth. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, the food is delicious, and the opportunities for activity and socializing are diverse and fun! Park Danforth has supported my mom in real and tangible ways as she makes this enormous transition in her life, and we are impressed by and grateful for this wonderful community!

I had been helping my mom find a place where she could be part of a community, with safe and clean living conditions, and make some of the day-to-day aspects of life a little easier as she ages. From the very first time I contacted The Park Danforth, the staff were friendly, helpful, responsive, and excellent communicators.<br><br>My mom was on the waiting list for a HUD-subsidized unit, and Kasey, the admissions coordinator, was nothing short of extraordinary throughout the entire process. During the first visit with my mom, we were immediately struck by the warmth of the place - not just among the staff, but among the residents as well. Seeing a welcome sign on the door with our names for our visit was an indication of the pride in both care and hospitality this community values. From intake, to front desk, to facilities, and to program staff, there's a great deal of care, responsibility, and helpfulness in this community. My sister pronounced at the conclusion of the move-in process, "I want to live here!"<br><br>The Park Danforth had been recommended to me by both medical professionals and friends as one of the best options for HUD-subsidized 55+ living in the greater Portland area, and our experience has lived up to those recommendations. My mom has now been there for about six weeks and she is enjoying the social life, her accommodations, and the food. The meal plan has been especially helpful in making sure she has easy, accessible meals without having to worry about preparing everything herself.<br><br>I’m incredibly grateful to Kasey, Jody, Rick, Jess, Karen, and the entire Park Danforth staff for making what could have been a stressful transition feel easy and welcoming, and to the residents who have made such an effort to welcome my mother into the community. As the person that moved my mom, visits her, and coordinates deliveries, I found the staff clear communicators and very helpful (to the 1-star reviewers: of course parking is tight - it's Maine's largest population center - but I've never had a problem finding a parking spot on or near the premises; I had no problems coordinating deliveries once so ever).<br><br>If you’re considering a 55+ retirement community for yourself or someone in your family in the greater Portland area, I would highly recommend The Park Danforth and have done so to several folks already.

A beautiful campus with gardens in the courtyard. Centrally located near everything you'd need in Portland. Wonderful planned activities, field trips, parties and holiday celebrations. They have movies, visiting entertainment, various exercise classes, bingo. Another important aspect is that you are required to check in once a day and if you don't they call you to make sure all is good. AND...Jessica is there if you have questions or concerns!!

My Wife & I Visited Several, Senior-Independent Living Facilities located in The Greater, Portland, Maine-Metro Area, before choosing The Park Danforth; and, We Were Extremely Impressed with Its: Great Location, Overall Features, General Appearance, Cleanliness, Friendly & Highly Qualified Staff, etc. Furthermore, They Offer Many Different, Optional-Eating Facilities, Such as: Their Maine Dining Room for Dinner, Their Bistro for In-Dining or Take Back to Your Apartment, Breakfasts and/or Lunches; but, "Best of All", Their Apartments contain, Fully-Applianced- Kitchens for In-Unit, Meal Preparation, Dining and Snacking. Lastly, and Best of All, They also Offer a Multitude of In-House and Off Premises ,Types of Entertainment Opportunities and Various Types of Facility Oriented- Resident Services and Life Enrichment Programs.<br>Bottomline: It's A Real Beautiful, Safe & Happy Place for Both<br>Single and Married, Seniors. !!!
