Total bait and switch operation. I told Kimberly that my mother had “zero” short term memory when we took a tour. We were shown independent living options, and thought the place might work out. But, when my mother was evaluated she could not recall three words. “Bed, blue, sock” after a minute or two. Based entirely on that, we were told memory care was the only option for my mother, and a rate about twice as much as what we were quoted on our initial visit.

What did Kimberly think I meant when I said my mom had, “zero” short term memory? I could have told everyone in the first minute that my mom could not repeat “Bed, blue, sock” after a minute or two with talking in between, and that would have been the end of it. Instead, Sunrise tried to upsell us massively, and colossally wasted our time and my mother’s time. So the sun set on our consideration of Sunrise. Beware, they will tell you one price point in one visit, then try to nail you with the highest price point at intake based on an absurd three word test.

Look elsewhere.
