The Gary Residence

The Gary Residence is a residential care and memory care community for seniors in Montpelier, Vermont. Founded in 1941 by Dr. Clara Gary, Montpelier's first woman doctor, the community welcomes residents over 62 and provides 24-hour staff assistance, help with personal care, nursing oversight, and medication management in a licensed residential care home setting.

The community occupies a stately brick Victorian building in one of Montpelier's gracious areas, carefully renovated and tastefully decorated. Located a short walk from the golden-domed Capitol, libraries, churches, restaurants, and shops, the property features beautiful landscaping, paved walkways, a patio terrace, and colorful flower gardens.

Residents have their own private suites, each with a private bath. The community provides nourishing meals prepared and served by staff, with elegant common areas including a sunroom and library. Amenities and activities are designed to allow residents to continue enjoying active, productive, and meaningful lives.

Clara's Garden is the community's memory care program, designed specifically for residents living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. The program offers peaceful, private, and semi-private accommodations tailored to the needs of residents with cognitive decline.
