After my 80-year-old father spent two months at the VA hospital, finding the right assisted living community became our top priority. The Gables of Jacksonville has exceeded all our expectations, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The community itself is stunning - bright, open spaces with beautiful common areas as shown on their website. The proximity to Mayo Clinic (just half a mile away) gives our family tremendous peace of mind. The staff-to-resident ratio is excellent, and everyone from the caregivers to the dining team has been attentive and professional. What truly makes The Gables exceptional is the remarkable staff, starting with Wendy, who is simply phenomenal. Wendy works primarily as a server in the dining room, but she is so much more than that - she’s the joy of the party and the heart of what makes residents happy here. Wendy knows everybody’s life story and genuinely cares about each resident. She’s incredibly hardworking, fast, and efficient, yet always radiates happiness. Her joyful spirit and caring nature have a profound impact on the residents - she really helps make these elderly residents feel so happy and valued. Wendy’s constant smile and genuine interest in everyone’s wellbeing create an atmosphere of warmth that transforms daily meals into meaningful moments of connection. She is absolutely exceptional and her passionate dedication to the residents shines through in everything she does. Equally extraordinary is Connie, who serves as the heart and soul of The Gables. As you enter the facility, Connie greets everyone with warmth and enthusiasm - she’s truly like the mayor of the Gables! But Connie is far more than a friendly face at the front desk. She’s an exceptional problem solver and administrator who oversees daily operations with remarkable efficiency. Acting as the facility’s COO, Connie is always on top of things, ensuring every detail runs smoothly. Her hands-on management style and ability to coordinate all aspects of the community create a seamless living experience for residents and peace of mind for families. Connie’s leadership is absolutely instrumental to the outstanding quality of care at The Gables. Working alongside Connie are her sisters, Vicky and Tracy, who are equally exceptional in their roles. Both go above and beyond to make residents happy, and their dedication mirrors Connie’s commitment to excellence. I must also highlight Deidra, who is in charge of community activities and is absolutely phenomenal. Deidra creates an engaging calendar of events that helps residents like my father regain a sense of independence and community. Her creativity and enthusiasm bring joy to the residents daily. Another standout team member is Josephine, a caregiver who consistently provides exceptional care. Josephine’s attentiveness and kindness have made a real difference in my father’s daily experience. Courtney, the healthcare director, also brings valuable expertise in geriatric care. She coordinates with doctors and manages healthcare needs for the residents. My father has been at The Gables for 9 months, but I’ve already noticed significant improvements in his mood and overall wellbeing. If you’re considering assisted living options in Jacksonville, I strongly encourage you to visit The Gables. With Wendy’s joyful spirit and exceptional care, Joyce and Connie’s outstanding administrative leadership, Deidra’s engaging activities, and the support of wonderful team members like Vicky, Tracy, and Josephine, this facility truly stands apart. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We are so grateful for The Gables Assisted Living Community on San Pablo Road. It is incredibly comforting to know that it’s also the closest assisted living community to Mayo Clinic, which brings our family so much peace of mind. I want to give a very special shout-out to Wendy Cox!! My boyfriend’s dad lives at The Gables and he is always raving about Wendy—her kindness, her attentiveness, and the genuine care she shows every single day. She goes above and beyond to make the residents feel seen, valued, and cared for, and it truly brings joy to their lives. Thank you, Wendy, for the love and dedication you pour into your work. And thank you to The Gables for having such wonderful people who make a real difference in the lives of the elderly who call this place home. We are truly grateful. 💙

Beautiful and recently renovated. When you walk in you feel like you’re at home. The festive holiday decor is a very nice touch and well placed throughout. LOVE the parallel programming for Memory Care. Definitely top of the list!

This community is truly a gem. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the kindest person at the front desk. The grounds and common areas are beautifully maintained. The staff here are absolutely top notch - caring, attentive, and always going above and beyond to make sure every need is met. There's truly something for everyone. It's clear that the focus is on enriching lives and fostering a vibrant, supportive community. Overall The Gables sets a benchmark for assisted living where residents can thrive.
