I don’t wish to leave negative reviews, but this place was horrible. I laid in my own poopfor four hours. immediately upon seeing me, my nurse tried to steal my watch off my wrist. I was locked in a room with a crazy person screaming they have no medical facility. They have no idea about my medication‘s. This is a Third World hell hole I prayed to God and I was answered. I was taken back to the hospital where I belong never ever go to this place.

I do not have the same experience as the negative reviews on The Bristol at Tampa. I have taken an on hands approach to the care received there by my 92 year old Mother. I find them caring, supportive, and helpful at every turn. From the Doctors, Nurses, Aides, and Office Support Staff. I have limited experience with rehab/NH care, but this place far exceeds my experience with the other places. The only issue I have truly had is a concern with lack of support help over the weekends. Staffing appears to be much lighter and Mom has a longer wait time if she needs something but often, I can handle what she needs anyway. The entire facility has been awesome to both her and me. Praying for a miracle that I can bring her home one day, but if not, I believe she is in good hands. And she believes that as well. Shout out to the entire staff/associates of The Bristol, you are doing an amazing job and I am eternally grateful for your care of my Mom. Kristen Hummingbird. GO OU SOONERS!

I was hesitant on choosing this spot due to some horrible reviews. I was pleasantly surprised with the facility and staff. First, yes it could use a bit of paint, but where would all the patients go? The staff, all of them have caring and helpful. The food is fine, the physical therapist are great. So after only 5 days into a 30 day stay, I'm happy with what I observe.

Our journey to the world of LTC began with a stroke in October. Prior to that, he was living independently at 93 years of age at home with a walker and frequent help from adult kids. The facility is old. The alarm system is absolutely jarring to the senses. When we visit we take him outside away from the noise. Bristol has a lovely courtyard for patients to enjoy. Every CNA and Nurse we have had to care for him has been polite, kind and competent bestowing dignity and respect. The therapists have been very available and patient with him. The food is good (patient approved). Estrangement in families and the miracle of modern medicine that allows us to live longer in unhealthy bodies has contributed to the weight of the silver tsunami. The antiquated warehouse approach needs reform, badly. Nursing homes are not for everyone, but some times it is the only appropriate option. For a 24/7 caregiver at $30/hour one can expect to pay about $22,000/month. I am grateful for the snf and for Medicare. The nursing home environment at Bristol is different. It is nurturing as well as autonomy driven. Every moment is a teachable moment, every day he seems to get a little bit better, more aware of his challenges, yet comforted knowing help is only a few minutes away. I have worked in nursing homes for many years. The pretty one's and the modern one's aren't always the best ones. This facility was not our first choice. But it has become a very welcome oasis of competent convalescents and hope. Visit often, bring sweets to the staff, be the reason employees love working in the nursing home. You will meet angels and you will be moved by the care and empathy they offer your loved one.
