Excel care center is a wonderful facility! I highly recommend them. The staff are so caring and engaged. It’s a friendly bright cheery place. People seem to really work well together and enjoy their jobs. They are always very professional and willing to help. The managers are top notch- so amazing - so helpful and caring. We have my mom in law here now and as a RN myself I have seen some pretty bad places. Even Jist driving in to the building it’s like you’re in a little rain Forrest- nice for staff to walk on their break. it’s super clean, always smells good and patients always look very well cared for and happy. They have professionals in every field when problems arise and act fast to get an evaluation or transfer to acute care when appropriate. Highly recommend Excel Care Center

When my brother was at TGH and we were considering more longer rehabilitation for his injury I inquired through various contacts that Excel Center was one of the best to consider including from people who were referred from the local VA. Kevin was accepted and in my opinion of me being on-site I tell you it was God approved blessing. I don't remember all staff by name but everyone I or my brother came into contact was just outstanding. I've told people even since his discharge to consider EXCEL. I do mean everyone was all the way around top notch in my opinion

My mother was a resident for three months and received excellent care from both the staff and administrators. The rehab team was wonderful, Sherwin, Ariel, Bianca, Joe, Jose, Nadine worked with her daily, making a meaningful difference in her recovery. We had an especially positive experience with the Activity Therapist, Sade. CNAs Semtria and Yolene were attentive and responsive to my mother’s needs, and nurses John and Boon provided wonderful care as well. Genesis, the concierge, was always responsive and took the time to listen whenever we had questions. Miss Eartha and Tanesha were also very kind and helpful, and although I regret not remembering her name, the night receptionist consistently greeted my family and me with a warm smile during our visits. There were many other team members who contributed to my mother’s care, and I sincerely apologize for not being able to name everyone. Please know that their efforts did not go unnoticed and were deeply appreciated. Our only concern was with the food, as it was not always to my mother’s liking. Overall, we are truly grateful for the care, compassion, and support she received during her stay.

It would be easy to judge this facility on its age, but if you do that, you're missing the factors that matter most: Excel's people. Even if some of the design is dated, the staff is ON IT. Any question or concern we had during my mother's post-surgical rehab stay (over 6 weeks) was immediately handled. I would visit for many hours each day (I came in from out of state), which gave me a front-row seat to the frequency with which the aides, PT and OT staff, specialists, and others were in and out of her room. My mom had a comprehensive team that worked together and communicated with us about everything. Admin was super responsive and caring, managers kept everything well oiled, therapists were enthusiastic and friendly, and transportation for appointments was smooth and timely. My first impression was better at another local facility because it was "prettier." We all want to choose a facility we can feel good about for our loved one. But I'm so thankful we ignored the superficial appeal and went with our gut (and Excel's 5-star rating with Medicare and Medicaid) because who needs a lobby chandelier when we could have an aide like Leto, who made our mom laugh, or a transportation coordinator like Tiffany, who made sure someone rode with Mom to her CT appointment when we couldn't be there, or an administrator like Angela, who said, "Call or text me any time" and meant it, or a receptionist like Barbara, who was the human equivalent of a hug as we left each night, or a nurse like Kyle, who works back-to-back shifts (16 hours) while furthering his studies, or a therapist like Nova, who championed the small successes and was always positive, or a concierge like Jeneis, who was our can-do advocate who always made the time? And there were SO many others. People who love what they do make all the difference in rehabilitation. We trusted them all, and they earned it every single day.

The nurse ja was extremely helpful with me I recommend this place anyone that needs therapy. Like any other place some people were rude but that didn't take a way my experience here from other people that come to work here with a smile on their face and their care for the resident.
