Suzanne Lesesne, the Executive Chef was a significant factor in choosing Artisan for my mom's care.

My love of food began with my Mema, Mom's mom, who cooked every day in her Kansas kitchen. She taught me how to dress a chicken when I was seven.

My first memory of cooking goes back even further. When I was 2½ years old, I got up in the middle of the night, stood on a chair to turn on the oven, and put a big yellow mixing bowl on the stovetop to make a cake. Mom says when she switched on the overhead light around midnight, I had six or seven eggs cracked into the bowl, two sticks of butter and about a pound of sugar—some in the bowl and the rest crunching under her feet as she walked toward the stove.

The whooping I received couldn't keep me out of the kitchen.

Mom was a charter subscriber to Gourmet magazine, which we devoured together. We experimented, cooked and tasted our way through those pages and shared that love of food throughout the years.

And now, Suzanne, you're carrying the torch.

The food you make for Mom sustains her body, but more importantly, it fuels her mind and her memories. Food has always been part of our family, and I love knowing that it still brings her enjoyment and, every now and then, perhaps a familiar memory.

At this point in life, there's nothing better.

Thank you also to the amazing Artisan staff—from the welcoming ladies at the front desk to the aides who tirelessly care for Mom, comfort her and laugh with her. Those things matter to us.

And a special shout-out to Aleena, whose sunny attitude keeps the atmosphere bright; the level-headed Michelle; and Marie, who keeps the ship afloat and the decks swabbed.

Thank you all for caring for my precious mama.

It means the world to us.

My name is Myrtice Brown.
This is a cultivated atmosphere of love and connectivity. We have an array of activities from taking trips, exercise classes, art classes, you name it.
We also have live entertainment. The Dining Department has over 15 entrees. Trips to the grocery stores for me are very limited because of the awesome menus we have. I have all I need here at The Artisan, and that is the reason why I very seldom go on trips to the grocery stores. We go on outings to various places that we suggest to the Zest Director, Amy. For me, living here is like going on a cruise everyday. While there are many staff members I could highlight, the first one that comes to mind is Yogi, who is the "chef" in the Bistro.
Everyone that I run into talks about how he is pleasant and accommodating.
Everything he prepares like sandwiches, soups, etc., are always good. While his primary job is the
Bistro, he helps also in the dining area. While it might not be his table, he's right there with a smile to assist.

This facility is absolutely stunning!!! We looked as a family almost 2 years ago for my father-in-law and we were ready to sign contracts. Unfortunately he passed before we could move him in. But about a year and a half later we needed a place for my father and this was the first place I thought to visit. We have been so pleased with everything. The ease of visiting and joining him during the day. The friendliness and professionalism of all staff at The Artisan is beyond comparison!!! Everyone is so sweet!! We receive smiles from mostly every resident we cross paths with!! We love and highly recommend The Artisan to everyone we come across.

The staff is incredibly nice but they need more of them. You have to wait about an hour and a half every night for dinner and the veggie quesadilla I ordered was cheese with raw onions because they obviously ran out of other veggies. Which happens often. The grounds are pretty, but looking a little worn. If it wasn’t for the staff, it would have one star. They are truly very nice and go above and beyond for my parents.
