This rehabilitation facility was highly recommended to our family for my 91 year old father. He has one medication which cost is covered thru a foundation. He was accepted as a patient, and then we received a call 4 hours before hospital discharge, stating that he could not be a patient and bring his specialized medication from home. ( note this medication is not on formulary for medicare). I asked for an exception, given it is not on formulary, but I was told "I'm sorry it is against corporate policy", with NO exceptions. Beware of this nonpersonalized mechanical response from the facility and the staff. I hope it is not reflective of the rehabilitation care.

The cleanliness? Great. The staff? Great! The fact that patients are left sitting IN WHEELCHAIRS vs a recliner or regular sitting chair, UNLESS THEY RENT ONE?!! Seems like a major money grab and like it’s taking advantage of the elderly!?!!! Like. Be for real?! A Bed and wheelchair only options? also no Bedrails on a tiny bed for a Woman in her 90’s?! Get it together. Do better!!!!!

From check in to discharge, our Mother, as well as my family, was shown courtesy and kindness. Nearly every member of the staff treated Mom with dignity, speaking directly to her and calling her by name. The Nurses, CNAs, and Physical Therapists got to know Mom's idiosyncrasies and met her where she was, all the while encouraging her to improve. Admin was helpful and informative, and the Activities Director always had something fun on the schedule. The facility was clean and the meal options were plentiful and tasty. The staff at Surrey was a shining light during this difficult time.

What a blessing that my Mom is at Surrey Place. The staff is so wonderful, kind, and patient with her. We are so lucky that we have Sierra to take care of her, but she does so much more than that. She has put our minds at ease knowing that we have this amazing human showing our family member such great compassion. Also, I’d like to mention Sarah and Kevin the therapists who are wonderful and patient. They both bring their sunshiny attitudes and inspiring spirit and gentle encouragement. So many more incredible staff members as well makes Surrey Place the one my family will recommend to everyone. Thank you and keep up the great work!
