We had an accident that led us to a 3 week stay at this facility for recovery and rehab. I can’t rave enough about the staff at St. Clare. When you’re helpless and vulnerable the people you are dependent on make all the difference. The nurses, therapists and caretakers were outstanding — caring, patient, professional and kind. The grounds are beautiful as they are part of an old church and third floor has a covered balcony with views of the water. Once discharged, St. Clare helped us arrange in-home care, schedule doctors appointments and handled all the paperwork for Medicare. We are grateful for the personal care and attention we received during a very difficult time.

While visiting my friends mother on the rehab unit, I watched her wait over a half hour for someone to answer her light for the bathroom. Once someone did respond, I was told that “she had to wait because she’s not the only one that needs care”, then an aid who was working another unit was walking by and stopped to help. I believe his name was Matthew and if not for him I would have called the state right there. He could very well be the only person with a heart there. The food was also inedible and cold. This place needs a wake up call I would not recommend.

The staff at St. Clare is amazing. My Mother entered their rehab and became a resident of the nursing home. She suffered from COPD and was declining in health. She loved her staff and was treated with outstanding care. I cannot say enough about St.Clare

See the comments by Ms Donne. I absolutely agree with all of them. I would give the food a 3. My husband pretty much ends up with a peanut butter sandwich. Last year when he arrived, the food was restaurant quality for about 2 weeks. Then the long time food service director retired...downhill since.

Low morale and not enough employees. Clean place. Beautiful church needs to be larger and more accommodating for handicap and emergency exits. Anyone can walk in on weekends with no one at front desk. Staff not briefed properly on residence needs. Too much cell phone use not enough time with residence real needs. Arguing among staffing and inconsistent food service on weekends ...that's when the executives not in house. The really caring and loving hands on staff are too few in this prestigious home for our elders. Food rating from a 1- 10 ..10 being the highest .. I give them a 5.
