What a terrific staff at Shem Creek at Southbay! After my mother’s unexpected return from a five day stay at MUSC, the wonderful 3 floor staff jumped to help make her return very special. From a deluxe breakfast to scheduled meds, they didn’t miss a beat. So happy she is here and being so well taken care of. Thank you Aujane!<br><br>….And to add to this review from months ago I wanted everyone to know how much Aujane Mack, Jasmine Williams, Erica Richardson, DeJour along with Myisha and all the folks on the third floor at Shemcreek SouthBay mean to my family. These incredible women cared for my mother with a tenderness and devotion that went far beyond their duties.<br><br>They lifted her spirits, protected her dignity, and showed her love on days when she needed it most. THIS IS A WARNING IF YOU WANT YOUR PARENTS TO LIVE A LONG A HEALTHY LIFE KEEP THEM FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!!!!! My Mom Was Completely fine Before she move in Required Little to No Assistance and not even 60 days Later she is no Longer here With NO explanation! Ive experience ED the head nurse being rude, dismissive, or unresponsive multiple times there are Long waits when residents need assistance while employees are just sitting in the team room doing NOTHING or spending extensive amounts of time caring for residents who are not acceptable for this building as it Advertised to be "ASSISTED LIVING" There are is continuous signs of Poor communication with family members I've raised the Concerns about cleanliness as mom room only got cleaned by request Problems with the HORRIBLE an incorrect meals Which should be basic services They Have Horrific Failure to follow through on promises Kellye Offered so many things during the tour that we were told after move "we don't do here " an once you've moved in she is impossible to contacts an pretty much doesn't care anymore she gives you this friendly kind loving demeanor all while just trying to get a room sale But what is really not going over to Well with me is the Lack of communication about changes in a resident’s condition My mom Rapidly declined in a matter of days while Ed did what he feels was "best" without any agreement or notice to me ! Her daughter ! Candy The Site director Has no Care in the World an Is Barely out Of her office While she is there She shows favoritism to particular Residents As Caregivers an other Residents have noticed her going out her way to satisfy Only The Ones Who Matter to Her the Most ! You can Call corporate until your blue in the face But nothing is done an everything is sent back down the chain of command to the building Where they Have Hr Cover All the Lies It Up for Them! So Posting Here is the only way to get the message out In All Hopes In regards I hope this Building is investigated an Closed For The Sake an safety Of Our Older Generation As Fast as they move in here is as fast as they DIE !

While visiting a resident, I was very impressed by the love the staff shows. I found the housekeeping staff to be caring and truly helpful. One individual, Amanda Brown, went above and beyond to help us.

The core group of teams that care for my mother, especially Myasha, Dori, Aujane, Erika, Sy, Dajour and Nivea, are awesome! They follow thru with requests and communicate regularly with me. They are compassionate, have established a good rapport and relationship with my mother and genuinely care for the residents. They make it easier for me to leave my mother, knowing she is surrounded by those who truly care for her. Myasha in particular has been critical in the follow up and resolution with pharmacy issues. The activities director, Sabrina, has made a point to try to develop programs for all levels of engagement and interest level. Sabrina at the front desk is thoughtful, engaging and helpful – its always nice to be met by a friendly and familiar face!<br>Balessia, the new Assisted Living Director, has been wonderful. She is hands on with the staff and patients, always available and proactive. She quickly resolves issues and has followed thru on requests with expediency and thoroughness. Her energy, support and management style have brought a revived energy and positive influence to the staff.<br>The facility director, Candy, has been very responsive and actively engages with families and residents. Her integration of programs and new hires has promoted a more positive atmosphere in the facility.
