Leadership seems far more visible and engaged in independent living than in assisted living. Issues in AL can go unnoticed for long periods, only being addressed once they become significant problems. Maintenance requests also appear to take a backseat when compared with concerns in the IL building. To make matters worse, staff are often reassigned to support IL, leaving assisted living residents with fewer staff members available. Residents who require the highest level of care should not feel like an afterthought.

Best friend had an unspeakable experience with his grandmother. No one could answer questions. It is terrifying to think this is a place of care.
