Where do I start? I will keep this short and sweet because my intention of this review is to help you make a difficult but important decision. My Mom needed to go to a nursing home/rehabilitation center and Seneca Nursing Home in Waterloo was the place we picked. THAT WAS THE BEST DECISION WE COULD HAVE MADE! From check in to check out the staff and process was seamless. I honestly thought my Mom was going there to pass away. She could not even stand up after she spent 9 days in the hospital with pneumonia. After about a week of Love (that is the best word I can think of) from the staff, mom started to turn a corner. 1 month after not being able to stand on her own, my Mom got out of her chair and walked without a walker 40 feet! She hadn’t walked alone in months (even before the pneumonia). If you are looking for a nursing home/rehabilitation home, you can not go wrong with Seneca. From the staff, to the rooms, to the food, to the PT/OT and overall atmosphere…A+. The financial department needs some work however, that was the one thing that needs improvement!! Other than that, everything about Seneca Nursing Home was absolutely perfect. I am forever grateful for this place, without it, we would have been in a way different position. Thank you SO MUCH to the entire staff of the Seneca Nursing Home in Waterloo, you all touched our lives in a way I will never truly be able to put in to words!

So my mother was a resident in the nursing facility for over three years, thru out her time there she had many incidents involving her daily needs not being met, along with injuries caused by staff, clothes being cut off her for unknown reasons to us , we made many written complaints that never seemed to be resolved. Myself and my sisters were there constantly and that didn’t seem to make a difference. There are many GREAT employees that work there, but in what we expierenced was staff in management positions who oversaw staff really need to find other work in jobs that that might auctually enjoy and be good at. Our mother recently passed a few weeks ago and not even so much as a condolence from anyone in administration, which just reinforce our thought that the company there is just for bottom line not for the residents. I work with the public everyday in my line of work in the area and I would never recommend Seneca to anyone.

My mother suffered a fall in October and required rehabilitation. From my very first call to Seneca Nursing and Rehab, Nicole was comforting, compassionate, and extremely helpful. What was expected to be a short-term stay has since become long-term as my mother’s memory has declined, and Seneca has truly become her home. Each time I contact the facility, every staff member is supportive, responsive, and willing to help. I would especially like to recognize Bonnie, Nicole, Chris, Bella, Brandy, Jolene, and all of the aides, who consistently go above and beyond to ensure my mother’s needs are met. Despite staffing challenges, the team remains patient, attentive, and genuinely compassionate, always prioritizing the residents’ care and well-being. I am deeply grateful to have found Seneca Nursing and Rehab and truly appreciate the dedication of its staff

I would not recommend this nursing home to anyone. Nurses and techs were very nice but care was terrible due to the fact that there were not enough people working. Not at all receptive to patients needs. I'm surprised that they are still open.

My mother is a resident of Seneca Nursing & Rehab Center. I have been very happy with the care that she gets and the attention that she receives. She has gained weight since being there (much needed since she weighed only 90 pounds when she entered). When I have concerns or questions, they are always immediately addressed by the staff. I feel very lucky to have my mom in this facility and am always happy to go to visit her there.
