This was my first experience at this kind of facility and it has been the worst experience ever. First of all, I’ve had to wait hours for my pain medication which is a denial of my pain meds. . On several occasions I’ve had to ask several staff for my meds. Each one telling me, let me check for you. Once I was told, you have to wait for the next shift to ask for my meds. Two people are crammed into a room with one bathroom to be used by 4 people. I’ve been here for 3 days and not once has the bathroom been cleaned of dirty diapers and feces on the toilet. I had hip surgery so pain meds and rest are important but I am not getting any of this on a timely matter. Once I got out of bed looking for the nurse to ask about my meds. I never found her. This was an option, I believed I would be in safe hands. I am not.

My mother recently stayed at this facility for rehab. I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel that anyone considering this facility must know about my mother’s experience. While most of the staff seemed very kind and compassionate, one young aide treated my mother rather harshly, especially when my mother needed assistance to use the bathroom. It was quite unpleasant to arrive for a visit and find my mother visibly shaking due to the poor treatment she received from this person. I understand that the aides have a difficult job and cannot attend to every patient immediately, but I believe there is no reason for harsh, rude communication. I also heard this aide yelling at another patient while I was visiting, so I don’t believe these were isolated incidents. I believe this aide was fully aware that she was being harsh. My mother noticed that when I or another visitor was present, the aide was much more polite. She also wore her name tag in a way that made it difficult to read, unlike the other employees. Maybe the aide’s behavior reflects a need for better training. I have every reason to believe that other employees noticed this behavior. Why would they allow it to continue? I am very grateful to the other employees who treated my mother kindly during a difficult time. Otherwise, my mother's room could have used some paint and other minor maintenance. She also was not very impressed with the food.

I feel that the entire staff were amazing and truly took care of my husband. The receptionist was always welcoming and helpful in every way. The nurses and aides totally took their profession to the highest level. The PT and OT gave my husband confidence and showed him how to build his strength. The only thing I would recommend working on would be the odor that permeated the facility. I realize the reason it is there but there has to be some way in this day and age to address this. It gives and leaves a bad impression which isn't fair to all the hard working individuals there.

Seneca Healthcare Center is very well kept and has tasteful nice paint colors and lovely pictures. The staff is always kind and helpful to my mother and my family. The food my mother is served looks good and also looks nutritious. My only concern is that the room my mother is in isn’t as clean as it should be. I move her furniture and the floor is dirty and behind the bed is dusty and dirty. Being in healthcare myself our family would like to see the rooms the residents sleep in be kept cleaner.
