Has alot of potential but staff doesn't seem to be knowledgeable on dementia or alzheimers. When we pay rent we have yo pay an additional 30$ out of pocket for cashiers checks because that's all they accept. Cleanliness is an issue. Upper staff likes to say thier staff is amazing but isn't present enough to really know. Tried saying that my one grandparent is throwing food in the floor and he isn't, his hands are numb and he drops things cause he has worked his entire life and has a couple brain surgeries. Alit of time residents wonder without supervision around and that is nice sometimes but not with memory care residents or fall risks. Wants to complain that we bring in non diabetic snacks when they don't even care enough to check the blood sugar and then they complain at us. Had thier personal bed frame/mattress, nesquick items and walker misplaced. Only 2 things were recovered, I had worked as a nurse for years and know how to care for memory care residents because that's what I specialized in. They are way under staffed to be handling a place of this size. The aids are nice, well most of them. Will update with further information as things go on.

They killed my dad. He died ultimately of dehydration. They claim to have some chef in the facility but when I was there in Sept/Oct they were fed finger sandwiches, fruit cocktail, and Mac salad. I know that any self respecting chef wouldn't do that. They take a little more pride in their work. Then as I'm there with my dad I have two women,that were also in this facility, one on each side of me. One tells me she's scared and just wants to go home and the other one is just begging me to let her out of there. Also, I guess with the okay from "family" they shacked him up with a female patient. Her name was Barbara. Nice lady, but my dad had beat the crap out of every woman he'd been with. So, they apparently didn't ask the right family. My dad was there for days short of 6 months. The review hearing was days away. My birthday was 9 days before. My dad always sent me a Christmas card and a birthday card and this time was no different. I got my card a little late but what it said ate me up. "I hope I get to see you before I die". I thought that was great because I'd be there in a couple days for the review hearing for the conservatorship. I also thought that it would be messed up if he died before I was there. Then within the week I had a Kingman Police officer come to my door with the phone number to Butte County Sheriff's office. I already knew but hoped it wasn't true. It was,my dad had died under their care. And they told me that my dad had just got up that morning and fell over dead. Then I saw the death certificate and it stayed 48 hours before death he had gastroenteritis then 24 hours before death he had electrolyte disorder and dehydration then 15 minutes before death he had a heart attack. That's exactly what happens when you're severely dehydrated. Now if these people that supposedly can't take care of themselves and are in this facility because of it, aren't the medical staff supposed to make sure any and every patient is at least checked on a daily basis. When you have a patient that can't make those decisions for themselves that's why the staff is there to make those life and death decisions, like administering life saving fluids. All he needed was an I.V. with whatever is in it, saline or something. But these people are not giving the proper care to these patients. I would call my dad and it'd take them 15+ minutes to get him,if/when they did. That place isn't that big. I always had great conversations with my dad,regardless. Then after he was in Roseleaf he was withdrawn. He barely talked to me for 15-20 minutes at a time, if. We had always had 4 hour phone conversations. It's just sad. I miss my dad horribly. I had expected him to live a lot longer than he did. And this place killed him. Let me leave you with this one last bit. The first day he was there he escaped and they didn't even know until some neighbor called them and told them that they had a patient missing. This came from the"nurse" that was there. So, if you love your mother, father, sister, or brother then DO NOT put them in this facility.

My mother was placed very efficiently in a nice sized and bright room. Freedom hospice supported her care seamlessly with Staff personnel. Off to a good start!

Roseleaf Oroville is perfect for my 100 year old friend. After less than 2 months she quietly confided that "I'm happy here." That testimony was and is the best news. The residents have made her a part of the 'family'. The staff cherish her. She knows she's safe and cared for. I have had so much communication with Ashlyn in the front office. I have her number on speed dial and absolutely always am comforted and more than happy with her efficiency. Brittany in housekeeping is wonderful. Thank you to all the staff at Roseville Oroville!

Roseleaf is a beautiful community. They have a great staff who keep there residents engaged and active to help promote a wonderful quality of life. I would recommend Roseleaf Oroville to anyone looking for a safe warm place for there loved ones.
