About River Terrace Health Campus

River Terrace Health Campus is a 57-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Madison, Indiana. The campus serves patients recovering from surgery and hospitalization as well as residents requiring ongoing care.

Family reviews paint a sharply divided picture. Positive reviewers consistently praise the physical appearance of the facility, cleanliness, and the quality of rehabilitation therapy and nursing care during successful stays. One family wrote their mother "was treated like a queen" and gained needed weight during her recovery. Families also highlight attentive dining service and a welcoming atmosphere. However, multiple one-star reviews raise serious concerns about staffing levels, medication management errors, and gaps in care coordination, with some families describing dangerous outcomes and feeling the facility's polished appearance masked inadequate care delivery.

The facility holds a 4.1 out of 5 stars across 42 Google reviews. Given the stark contrast between five-star accounts of excellent therapy and nursing care and one-star reports of preventable safety lapses and understaffing, prospective families should conduct thorough on-site visits and speak directly with current residents and staff before making a placement decision.

My dad stayed here after a stroke and received excellent care. He went on and on how he loved the food. He is naturally a complainer but had only good things to say about River Terrace! Definitely recommend!

We had to put our mother in rehab after extensive back surgery at Leatherman Spine. when we arrived the nurses and aides made my mother feel right at home. It was dinner time and the staff had my mother's food waiting on here. I recognized one of the nurses from the local hospital and felt at ease. This place is such an upscale to your average rehab facilities, their physical therapy department followed up with my mother's surgeon with her progress. I cannot say enough about this facility, I am so happy our town has this GEM!!! Thank you to everyone at River Terrace, our family is truly grateful.
