I have never left a bad review in my life but if I could give this negative reviews I would. Absolutely horrible place. I would not send my worst enemy here. My dad was here for less than a year & his health declined so rapidly due to the negligence & neglectfulness of this facility. He never got showered, changed or listened to at all. Nurses were always gossiping or sitting on their phones rather than helping him or us while trying to get their attention, which often took a while/a lot. My dad was not talking, eating, walking, and was very dizzy & lightheaded & weak etc. & worsening for days & they had the audacity to not only notify us, but when we noticed everyday that we went & asked them to check his vitals, they say that he was faking it for attention, and in front of him. We called squad ourselves & the hospital said was early septic, in afib for days, and had multiple small strokes. We sent him to a different nursing home after he spent two weeks in the hospital & he died less than 6 months later after having a horrible quality of life after their negligence. We never even got to take him out to eat again. & I blame them for his decline & death. They stole the last year of my dad’s life from him & us. We had a meeting with the board & all they could say was if we brought him back it wouldn’t happen again. An absolute joke.

★★★★★ From Rock Bottom to Redemption<br><br>Let me be real about The Respiratory & Nursing Center of Dayton. There was a time when this place was not somewhere you wanted your loved ones. The rooms were rough, the staffing was stretched thin, call lights stayed on too long, and families like mine walked away worried instead of reassured. Reviews were ugly, inspections were harsh, and the reputation around town matched what we saw with our own eyes. For me it was heartbreaking, because my mother deserved better.<br><br>That was then.<br><br>Now I walk into the same building on Pinnacle Road and I see something completely different. The facility has invested in itself, the vent and respiratory unit has been remodeled, and the culture has been flipped. There are respiratory therapists on duty, nurses who hustle, aides who care, and leadership that actually listens. When you have been around as long as I have, you know the difference between a surface polish and a true transformation. This is the real thing.<br><br>Today I sat down with Jernai Jennette, Social Services Director, Tonya Martin, Admissions Director, and Nurse Meghan. These are not just titles on paper. These are people who looked me in the eye, gave me straight answers, and made sure my mother’s needs came first. They carry themselves with pride and purpose, and it shows in how the whole building operates.<br><br>The truth is this place went from being a story people told as a warning to being a story people can now tell as an example of what redemption looks like. I call the nurses, aides, and staff heroes because they earned that title. They show up every day in a tough field and still manage to give families like mine peace of mind.<br><br>If you want proof that a facility can change, grow, and rise above its past, look at The Respiratory & Nursing Center of Dayton.
