Rooms where more expensive than the other facility I was at . rooms were also smaller. The person we talked to was too young to have any real experience and the person with the experience had no time for us even though we set up an appointment with him the Friday before the appointment. The person we did see was wrong about a couple of things about the place we just came from.

Took a tour of facility as a place for husband stay while I get some respite care, it’s beautiful!

Having to place your loved ones into facilities is a difficult and stressful decision. There are many options but few feel right. Regent of Newport News was my choice based on my assessment of other surrounding locations. The administration and staff are warm and welcoming which makes Regent feel more like home than a facility. Like any operation, there is room to improve, but there wasn't, a single question or concern that I may have had that wasn’t addressed. I can now rest easier and have peace, knowing my loved one is being taken care of. The facility is beautiful and the rooms are spacious. Vanetta, Adriana, Alex…thank you for making our transition seamless.

Don't take my word for it -- Check the DSS site for the inspection records! Out of 7 separate inspection dates in the past 2 years, there have been serious violations on every single one. My family member suffered needlessly because the facility was not adequately staffed, staff did not answer calls for assistance, they did not administer medications as prescribed, and the entire establishment was just not as advertised. There were NO events, despite having a "calendar" posted in the lobby filled with events. The hair salon was not operational at any point. The building is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but they just do not have it together yet. NOTE: The parent company is in Ohio. Please do your due diligence before choosing The Regent for your loved one!
