WOW! I discovered the Care Suites at Regent just over three months ago as i walked in with no appointment! Sue ,from sales, met me in the lobby at a moment in my life where I felt completely lost, tired & confused as to the future of where my mom should be! I felt like Sue and her entire housing & nursing team held my hand and guided me through all the paperwork and assessments to have my mom be welcomed to her New Home in March! Sue, truly, has gone above and beyond to get to know my mom with such intentionality. I am so grateful… The Care suites is unlike anything I’ve ever seen and absolutely perfect for my mom! She has been surrounded w such personalized care by all the caregivers (Harry who she says calls her ZZ! ) Nurse Jennifer, always taking time to allow mom to come chat in her office plus making sure all her meds are met daily! To Nurse Katrina who first met my mom before the move and spoke with such understanding with mom and assured her that she will be well cared for with the entire team at Regent. Oh and Zach fixing the tv remote and Missy always helping with all the things at the front desk! Mom so enjoys the dining hall! She has a great group of friends that meet for dinner daily! The view out those windows on to the lake is stunning! As I have been mom’s sole caregiver, I have managed it all. But now that we are at the Regent, I feel I have a team alongside me, caring for mom as if she were family. Her Care Suite is cozy, the staff visits to just say hello, mom “takes a suntan” as much as possible in the many outdoor beautiful seating areas. Her great grand kids know the hallways and love to “play” in her apartment! Thank you, thank you for giving me the peace of mind as mom enters her next chapter!

My most recent experience involved the staff bringing an envelope of money to my wife's apartment and mumbling something about it wasn't supposed to be given to some staff and she had to take it back. Since she has dementia, she was rightly upset, confused and concerned. When I asked what had happened, I was told it's against their policy for any staff person to receive a tip, so WITHOUT calling me they sent some new hire to return it. My other real concern is the pitiful kitchen: the dining area is just wooden 4-tops with nothing on top for decoration; the cook's idea of serving attractive food consists of plopping it on a plate and having a barely-trained high school student put it on the table. There is never any kind of salad beyond a pathetic "tossed salad" which is a few dregs of lettuce, 3 ONE-HALF cherry tomatoes and 3 strings of onion--never any coleslaw of other kinds of salad that would be good with the entree. It is really pathetic and dis-heartening to think of going to eat there. Responses to complaints has so far just been, "We're sort of working on it." If you're considering sending someone here, FIRST THING: have a meal there! I wrote a similar commentary last December, so you can see not much has changed. GS

Upon first impression, it looks like a wonderful place for my mother. My mother was well cared for here. The only reason I moved her was an issue with her new roommate, nothing can be done about a clash of personality. Otherwise she'd probably have stayed here until she passed. I honestly feel her care here was much better here than she recieved at the place I moved her. In some ways, I wished I had never moved her from here.
