Providence Place | An RHF Community

Providence Place is a subsidized housing community for seniors age 62 and older in Salem, Oregon. The community features 66 one-bedroom apartments across three stories, with five units designed as handicap-accessible to accommodate residents with mobility impairments, hearing loss, or visual impairments. Roll-in showers, appropriate counters and sinks, and accessible turning radius are available in these modified units.

As subsidized housing, residents pay approximately 30% of their adjusted gross income as rent, with the Department of Housing and Urban Development covering the remaining 70% of the contract rent. The community is ideally located near restaurants, retail businesses, churches, medical and dental offices, and public transportation, including Cherry Lift and the Red Line for shopping and medical appointments.

Providence Place provides a community room with a party kitchen for social, educational, and recreational activities, an entry lobby and sitting/library for socializing, a computer room, and a crafts room for both wet and dry projects. Coin-operated laundry facilities are available on each floor. The community is maintained with a key fob entry system, intercom for guests, and camera security throughout the building.

Each apartment includes a kitchen with a pass-through counter, refrigerator, and range; a living room/dining area; and a bathroom equipped with safety rails. Management offices are located on site for resident support and communication.

Providence Place welcomes pets, including fish and birds without deposit, and small dogs and cats with a $150 pet deposit payable in installments. There is a limit of one pet per household, with certain size, weight, and breed restrictions. The community is non-smoking and currently taking applications.
