Second year Review. We the residents are not 3rd class citizens! 1.)Cafeteria and dietary has improved, food is hot and fresh, better seasoning of protein is needed. 2.) Housekeeping and Maintenance continues to do a good job, most things get fix and cleaned, no Housekeeping after 11pm which could be challenging. 3.)Laundry Department. getting your clothes clean is pretty good, getting towels did improve. 4.)Activities Department did improved a little, meal change got better. They steal and open residents mail without permission! If your Dad or Mom likes the Bears, Bulls, ESPN, Hawks, FOX, the Superbowl or any sports stuff you might be disappointed! They have nail painting and kiddy gardening coloring. Watching the same movie 10 times in a row is not Activities. 5.) Dialysis did improve some, Felicia Dialysis Nurse is incorrect for not communicating with the Administrator. issues with transport and pickup. 6.) Nursing and CNAs, most are professional, most CNAs do the hardest work in a Nursing home, they do still have a few unfriendly Nurses and CNAs with blue language who think old sick people are second class citizens we are not! ADON has a hard time telling the turth! A few Nurses don't supervise the floor very well. Smokers are allowed to get out of control. They disrespect a nice building patio with trash and cigarettes butts. 7.)Social Service Workers, are not very social, not sure if they are the advocate for residents? They need to be retrained. IF you don't agree with some staff you are falsely labled aggressive for speaking!
If you see something unsafe please say something.
8.)Location, South Holland is quite and safe good neighborhood... many wise residents and staff at Prairie Oasis. my review is higher this time because most of the staff did improvement! My sister Judith Reeves was a patient there until she recently passed on.I would like to thank the nurses and staff from the bottom of my heart. They provided excellent care, comfort and concern for my sister Judy.It was not easy seeing her condition deteriorate as the time passed but I was confident that the staff would do everything possible to give her the care she needed. Her clothes were always clean and her hair was neat.Well I cannot say enough about how I feel ,thank you so much.
