I had the pleasure of touring the facility and met the staff who were amazing! I met a lovely resident who showed off her beautiful room! Not only are the residents happy, they have the option to transform their room and design it to how it fits them individually. Wonderful facility that feels like a home!

Do not put your loved one in this place. They do not take care of the residents and could not care less about their well-being. We unfortunately did not know this when we placed our loved one there.<br><br>Our loved one fell multiple times, due to staff neglect. This has resulted in stays at the hospital, bruises, broken bones and a sharp decline in health.<br><br>They advertise that they are a Memory Care facility... they lie. This place is not staffed with professionals who have the specific training to properly care for those with dementia or alzheimers. One nurse walks around in dirty socks and no shoes. The activities, when there are any, are what you give children, not adults who have had full lives. If the residents do not want to color or play bingo, they are left alone in their rooms.<br><br>The staff leave residents in their rooms for hours to days without checking on them. Call buttons are removed, so if there are accidents or falls, the poor resident has to wait a long time to be found. They do not verify that all residents have eaten, so those with memory loss can miss multiple meals in a row. Our loved one has become malnourished living there. We have to leave food parcels every time we visit to ensure that they get enough to eat. Even when the residents are fed in the dining room, the food is of substandard quality. Lots of white bread, sugar and processed food.<br><br>The rooms are not cleaned. Our loved ones' room is disgusting every time we visit. We have to bring our own supplies to clean the room. We sweep up huge dust balls and pick up trash. The bathroom never has toilet paper and the toilet is broken. The room has no ventilation and it gets very hot in the summer. The heating element is broken and hanging off the wall, where trash can fall into it. This is a fire hazard. A simple request that the room be swept was met with "I don't think that is going to happen."<br><br>The staff does not ensure that the residents' health is taken care of. They do not ensure that residents bathe or brush their teeth. When we visit, we can tell it has been a week or more since a shower. One nurse told us, " I think it's been three months since your loved one bathed." So, they are aware of the problem, but do nothing. We once asked for help getting our loved one changed and they said, "we'll see if we can get to that." Our loved ones' teeth are starting to chip and decay since moving in here.<br><br>If they bother to do the laundry, the clothes all disappear or are destroyed. It is very frustrating to come in each week and try to hunt down enough clean clothes for our loved one to wear for a week. We have to keep buying brand new clothes. We label each item, but this makes no difference.<br><br>They do not change the sheets. Our loved one has fallen out of bed multiple times and gotten hurt, but when we ask about bruises, the staff can not tell us what happened.<br><br>They continue to have covid outbreaks in the facility. When this happens, they cut off communication between the residents and their families and will not let us speak to them on the phone.<br><br>They ignore residents who scream for help. Our loved ones roommate is left alone in bed for hours, with dirty sheets. They seem to expect our loved one, who can not care for herself to help.<br><br>We have brought all of these issues up to the directors many times, and we are ignored. We call the front desk, but no one answers. We leave messages and no one calls back. If we are lucky enough to get anyone on the phone, they have a list of excuses why we can't talk to our loved one. One of the few times we got our loved one on the phone, a nurse came in and ripped the phone out of their hand and hung up on us without explanation.<br><br>The only time we hear from The Pines is when they want money, then we can't get them off the phone.<br><br>Do not be fooled by the walk through interview. They will put on a show, then neglect your loved one as soon as you leave.<br><br>You do not want to put your loved one here. We are honestly sometimes afraid of reporting issues, fearing they may retaliate against our loved one.

Just recently was able to place my 96 year old Aunt at The Pines. I am so pleased with my whole experience, from my tour, to the final admittance. The atmosphere is kind and cheerful. The environment is clean, secure, and inviting. It was instantly obvious the staff and management is committed to it's residence. My Aunt being there is a tremendous relief. She appears happy and content there, and I know she is safe and well cared for.

From the moment we walked in the door and took a tour, everyone was very friendly and the facility was very clean and tidy. Based on our first impressions, the Pines of Newmarket would definitely be a place we would consider when in that position and we are proud to now play a role in the comfort of the facility with our fuel.

Transitioning from assisted living to memory care is a big leap, especially moving my Dad from out of state to New Hampshire. Having spent less than 30 days at another facility, I made the difficult decision to move my dad to a place that would hopefully meet the expectations and his needs. I chose the Pines for the staff ratio, levels of care available, The socialization and interaction that is not just planned but seems to happen organically moment to moment. The resident care is Individualized, considerate, and respectful…. It feels like a community and the atmosphere feels like home!
