My Sister has been Rehabbing here. Most Staff have been very kind, attentive, quite caring altho there have been a couple I would wish she not have to deal with. Clearly there for the paycheck and nothing else. Food is exceptional for a facility. Programs are minimal and the one she wanted to attend they forget to come get her after saying they would. You do have to ask for EVERYTHING. Never does she have a drink of any type and I’ve gone in to find an old one I retrieved the night before. Daily board in room isn’t updated which is very confusing for a dementia patient. Not good. Very clean facility.

For context, I've been in healthcare in various capacities since 2012, starting out as a CNA in a nursing home. I was blown away by the amount of communication from Pilgrim Manor. My dad stayed there for about 5 weeks. I frequently got calls with updates and coordinating his care. Everything seemed nice the many times I visited. My dad made strides in regaining his strength. The facility was very aggressive about making sure he had all his follow up appointments scheduled and a way to get there. My dad spoke frequently of the kindness everyone showed him and said because of these people, he was almost sad to leave. On top of that, he even says the food was good. I was very impressed with the overall experience.

My mother, same last name as I have, was admitted for rehab at Pilgrim Manor this past Wednesday evening. She needs rehabilitation help big time. And yet did she have PT or OT on Thursday? no. How about on Friday? No. Are there notes left for staff for the weekend? Not as of last night, according to my family member who checked. Does Pilgrim Manor do PT over the weekend? I'm kind of expecting no...Do staff ask my mother if she wants to brush her teeth? Do they make sure she has a chance to clean her hands after using the bathroom? You guessed it. No, not yet. I'd like to uplevel my review here, Pilgrim Manor, but your organization will have to help me do that. It seems staff is pleasant, but perhaps stretched thin. You were high on our list of options and we were thrilled to get a bed here, but now we are a little concerned that my mother is going to go further backwards before she starts getting some good therapy. Signed, A concerned family member from over the bridge in Portland.

My grandmother stayed at Pilgrim Manor for about 8 weeks after falling and breaking her hip. The staff were very friendly and caring. The recreational activities were creative and engaging. The facility was clean and had a bright and cheerful atmosphere. It was nice how they decorated for each holiday and kept everything fresh and updated. I also thought it was so sweet how around Valentine’s Day they hung wedding photos of all the residents and staff and celebrated the month with wedding themed activities. I felt that they went above and beyond to make this place feel like home for the residents and I was very happy for my grandmother to be there as we had a poor experience in the past at another facility. Becky (social worker), Donna (front desk), Heather (recreation), Laurie (admissions) were all so helpful and kind.

My mom is a resident of Pilgrim Manor, and I've found this to be a wonderful organization with so many people devoted to lovingly caring for the residents. She originally went for rehab, but when it became clear that she could not return home, she became a resident. Their services have included attentive nursing care and aides, caring rehabilitation, a dietician who set up a meal plan mom needs for her health, the kitchen providing quality and tasty meals, responsive physician and nurse practitioners, supportive chaplaincy, proactive and engaging recreation, a cheerfully decorated facility and good housekeeping. They work hard to provide attentive, compassionate, individualized and heartfelt care.
