My friend was on there for a broken ankle, the room she was in was small, had cracks in the walls the bathroom was very old looking, she had to sit in pee & poo in her diaper they wouldn't come when she called, she asked a nurse & she said there was only one nurse on duty this was in evening, this was a bad place to go for help .

Zero stars for this facility. My mother was there two weeks ago. When I came to visit her she had to use the bathroom. We buzzed for assistance twice to no avail. During the following week several family members attempted to call my mother. We contacted the desk and one assistant stated she would go to my mother’s room and call me back. I never received the call. The following weekend I went to visit. My mother was in the hallway near the nurses desk. She was extremely disoriented and distraught. She had thought staff had given her someone’s else’s teeth. The assistant who brought the teeth into her room while we were there was very unfriendly and had very uncaring mannerisms towards my mom. My mom was very confused, unable to speak clearly, couldn’t lift a cup or her fork for breakfast. In speaking with staff, I found out she had a UTI, most likely caused by her sitting for over a half hour or more waiting to use the bathroom as she was fine upon entering the facility. She ended up going to the hospital a day later due to her condition. She was found to be unresponsive to staff. I spoke to Joanne regarding the matter and was told and I quote “you don’t have to bring her back here there are other places”. I will never bring her back there again.

I had the opportunity to meet Kaylee at a recent event and learn more about the work being done at The Pearl. Kaylee shared how The Pearl provides short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing care for individuals recovering after surgery or hospitalization — offering professional support beyond what family care alone can provide. It was clear from our conversation that the facility focuses on helping patients regain strength, independence, and confidence through structured rehabilitation and compassionate medical care. It’s reassuring to know there are places like The Pearl that offer this level of professional support during recovery.

While I do not take pleasure in writing this review as there are certainly some members of staff that are exceptional, I feel I must for due consideration of the next people who may be subject to rehabilitation at The Pearl. Firstly, I work for a hospital in healthcare. My grandmother was there for about 3 weeks. She’s allergic to fish, yet they served her fish sandwiches on more than one occasion. She cannot eat eggs, yet she was given eggs for breakfast nearly every other day. There were times where she had pressed her call button and it wasn’t responded to for hours some times so she sat in her own excrement as she cannot walk or stand. The air quality of the facility is horrendous, I feel they do as little as possible to properly ventilate the facility and bring in fresh air. The Flu and COVID were rampant here for weeks. The physical therapy was entirely uncoordinated, some days only having her legs massaged and doing hand movements at bedside. She was admitted due to losing the musculature to walk from kidney failure. Some physical therapists were given notes that she could stand for a minute at a time, though she hadn’t been able to stand for weeks due to sickness while admitted. These are some of the things we, as a family of 7 with multiple of us there every day, observed over the course of her stay. I’m sure there’s more but this is enough to get the point across. She was depressed, underfed and not regularly bathed or cared for except by a few caring and patient staff members. Thank you to those who do the hard work. And to the folks who may be looking at The Pearl for healthcare, the 5-star rating is through Medicare fulfillments, not patient experience. I encourage you to tour a few facilities before subjecting your loved ones to this facilities treatment.
