Possibly somewhat unfair to make a review 11 years later but I have always regretted not getting an attorney and suing Pate for the neglect my husband received while at Pate. He has a severe brain injury and went to Pate from Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation. BIR was absolutely amazing so of course we expected the same from Pate, however, Pate was just awful. They were never fully staffed and the staff that was there cared very little for the people. My husband was allowed to fall out of bed several times requiring a trip to the hospital. I will never forget Thanksgiving. Families were invited to eat with our loved ones that day. The day came, there wasn’t enough staff to cook. Clearly, very little planning had gone into the day and we finally had to leave with our loved one’s heart broken that we didn’t have thanksgiving together, so he refused to eat. That may not sound like a big deal to some but my heart still hurts just telling the story. Please do a lot of research before sending your loved ones here. I hope it has improved.
