I have taken care of Michael for the last 30 years. He does not read or write so I became a legal guardian for him, after his mother passed away. He was doing pretty well on his own until he starting having trouble remembering things. I had to take his truck away from him after he drove to Port Huron on a nice sunny Fall day and could not find his way home. I secured him a room in Orchard Hills Living just after the first of this year. He is doing very well living there, he takes all his medicine, gets good food, and they take great care of him. If you have somebody you know who needs a great place to live, you should check out Orchard Hills Living.

My mom lived at Orchard Hills the last 2 months of her life. She was incredibly happy with the staff and residents. She loved the food, activities, residents and staff. Eric and Jane and staff went above and beyond in caring for my mom to make her last two months incredibly peaceful. I cannot say enough about how amazing Eric and Jane and the staff are. They have huge hearts in caring for people with dignity. They even made my mom homemade spinach pie after my mom requested it. I felt like they did a wonderful job in caring for her but also keeping me informed when needed. My only regret is that I didn’t move my mom into Orchard Hills sooner! I won’t sugarcoat it, my mom was not an easy resident but they never made me feel like they were even slightly overwhelmed with her. They truly have incredible patience. My sister and I are forever grateful our mom truly enjoyed her last two months on earth with respect. We are thankful to have Eric and Jane as our friends. Eric even came to her funeral. My mom lived in several assisted living homes and this was the best!

We placed my father-in-law here and we wished we had started with Orchard Hills. The small environment made it feel like you were at home and not like how I felt when he was in the large living assistant home, he previous was in. The owner Eric and his wife showed so much respect for the people they cared for. The staff Amy was so loving and went out of her way to please each person instead of typical one size fits all. The rooms may be smaller than his past place, but the different meeting areas more than make up for it. I was so surprised at the quality of the food, it was wonderful. Again, this place was best choice we made all due to the love they gave me and my family member.

I've wanted for months to write a review of Orchard Hills, because I was so impressed with the home when my 93 mother had a respite stay here in July 2021. Eric the owner and Lika the manager bent over backwards to accommodate my mother's special dietary needs, and also special physical needs she had. I can't say enough about how helpful they were, and how much they were will to do extra work in terms of many special food purchases, cooking, serving etc. My Mom has a very unusual and restricted diet. Here's another little example: my Mom wanted to eat in her room a couple times and not at the main table. With almost no advance notice, Lika prepared a special tray for my Mom and brought it to her room. A second example of true caring: my Mom turned 94 there, and family came for a small birthday party outdoors, bringing food. Without our knowledge, the home purchased a big tray of fruits and other healthy food for our little party, knowing that my Mom likes that. Certainly there are homes with fancier facilities, but in my opinion, having caring staff who truly work with the individual needs of residents (no cookie-cutter approach) is the most important thing.

My mother has been a resident of Orchard Hills Manor for 2 1/2 years. The owners, Andy and Ash, are hands on medical professionals who genuinely love and care for their residents. They hold themselves to a high standard and are easily accessible for questions or concerns and quick to notify us of any issues with my mom's health and safety.

The facility is a nice family home in a wonderful neighborhood. I am pleased with the 24/7 care they provide for my mother. Jenny, the daytime staff member, is always ready to provide information on my mother's behalf to Visiting Physicians, Area Agency on Aging 1B and Arbor Hospice.

I am grateful for all that Orchard Hills Manor has done for my mother and highly recommend them to anyone in need of their services.

Charley M
