Why bother to respond? Oakmont has not had on site management since ne owner.

Since new managers took over in July 2025, Oakmont has been charging $7 - 10 for each meal brought to ill residents in their rooms. No current residents signed a lease amendment for this additional $600 - 900 per month.
Recently, Oakmont locked down for a week due to the MI flu epidemic. Several residents died here. Before they did, Michele White showed a fleeting moment of mercy by not changing the entire building for 3 meals per day. Residents who survived are seriously considering a move out of Oakmont.
New management also changed 3rd party medical providers. A noticeable increase in head injuries has been noticed as a result.
Fortunately, much better care is available nearby at Marycrest Manor. That facility is REAL assisted living with full time trained employees, part of the Trinity Health network.
Also the recent rent rebates for current residents on referrals have catches. One was like Let's Make a Deal, where the 2 of the 3 choices offered were charitable donations, etc. The current rebate is contingent on the refered person staying at least 60 days AND the referral not being in Oakmont's sales lead database. Since you will not have access to the data, Oakmont can claim the new resident was already in the sales database. Gena McCullough has been tasked with this sales goal.
On a lighter note: Michele White recently explained a huge rent increase as tied to "MICHTA HUD financed data dump". She must be joking: Progress Software (circa 1980 - 2000) had a data dump feature. Developers could then grep though the text data on UNIX, their base O/S platform. Or attend C# User Group on the MS campus, where the real coders laugh at the leaders who wrote a book but NEVER delivered a line of code. LOL!
Save your money and your loved one's life by renting elsewhere.
UPDATE: Robey, since you replied, Jodi cut off alot of your cash. Coupons for meals with families, baby bottle full of $$ for charity at Christmas, alternate book club since she wants $$ to buy a book per month with no discussion. No cash in advance to Robey for our field trips.
Don't get your BS flu shot here, watch your toilet seat so you don't go flying off it when it's loose, watch your meds so you don't turn red, swollen and stop breathing, talking or eating.
Who locks down for a flu epidemic except SYMOAK LIVONIA????
Get a look at Queen Gena who went around here with her "Royal Wave". Princess Diana had to learn and perfect it. No response from residents. You are as warm as a Stepford Wife.🥶🥶🥶
Robey & friends: my mail is NOT yours! Don't ask me how 🤔🤫😜

We didn't need an assisted living facility, but one with individual apartments that would be safer and easier to live in than the house my aunt had that had become too difficult for her. Oakmont has many aspects that support aging and promote socialization. They do a great job incorporating seasonal change and traditions into activities and even the menu. And the residents are connected to local events, too. They have Tigers watch parties and tailgates and even had olympic games during the winter olympics. The activity director, Jodi, is a gem. All of the staff treated my aunt well.

There is a third party homecare team on site that is available and they were great. This company was brought in last October and was a big improvement over the previous one. The previous company had some really caring employees and it's too bad they couldn't stay to be on the Homestead staff. Their supervisor, Shereen, is outstanding.

The building and grounds are very clean and the atmosphere is so welcoming.

This place is so pathetic they won't even help your loved one up off the ground if the have fallen and only need help up. They just call 911 instead for a lift assist. Shameful waste of taxpayer resources while they collect your money.

To the response:
You have just proven how much of a waste of money this place is. Staff cannot even help elderly people who weight 100lbs or less off the ground who are completely alert and competent, are telling you they are not injured and just need help up and furthermore require no evaluation. Nice attempt at an excuse to be an incompetent waste of money.
