Oakmont Guest Care Center has been an amazing facility and truly goes above and beyond for their patients and families. One thing that stands out is the thoughtful attention to patient comfort and preferences — they offer 24-hour access to ice cream and fruit, as well as alternative meal options like hamburgers and hot dogs for patients who may not enjoy the regular menu. The communication from the nursing staff, social worker, and administrative team has been excellent. Everyone is approachable, responsive, and works hard to ensure patients and families feel informed and supported. The staff takes the time to listen, answer questions, and genuinely get to know both patients and their families rather than treating them like just another room number. I also appreciate how they encourage patients to get out of bed, stay engaged, and participate in activities when able, helping promote both dignity and quality of life. The administrative staff helps keep things running smoothly and creates a welcoming environment from the moment you walk in. Their compassion, teamwork, and dedication do not go unnoticed.

The staff will hang up on you instead of looking for the patient. So many times then when you call back it goes to the answerso machine

My grandmother has been her for a little over a year and absolutely loves it. Of course there was an adjustment period however, the staff has always been open to suggestions and has really made this a home for their residents. Our family has been very pleased with Oakmont and would recommend this place a thousand times over.

My granddad was here temporarily and his room had no working AC. Residents are wandering around this facility lost. If you have a grandmother here who is wheelchair bound, has no teeth, is difficult to understand, and is black with short gray hair in a bun, I had to call a nurse for her twice because she was scooting around with her legs, lost, and crying. The first time, a nurse happily helped. The second time, a week later, the nearby nurse wouldn't even come to us to check on her. She told me they will handle it and then disappeared into a room so I couldn't keep bugging her. Again, she was crying and could have been in pain. She can not communicate properly and was in obvious distress. I took a video of this but won't post it for her privacy. There is a cockroach problem here (German roaches) and residents are not bathed regularly. My granddad was in the same bloody clothes (that did not belong to him) for over a week until I convinced a nurse to give him a shower. They would also bring food to his room, but wouldn't uncover it or tell him to eat so he just didn't. He has dementia and doesn't know he needs to eat unless someone tells him. No one could tell me why he hadn't been bathed for over a week either. The rooms are dirty and the building smells bad. Somehow he was left alone long enough to find a window that opens because he eventually escaped without someone noticing. Most of the nurses were friendly enough, but I would highly recommend not sending your family members here.

My mother is a new resident at this facility. From evaluation to acceptance to check-in, everything has been amazing. They have been professional. They have been clear. They have been compassionate. They have been direct in the path for recovery. Any small detail, they have met with understanding. The facility is clean. The residents get along with one another. And my mother has come back to me cognitively, and in her personality.I couldn't be happier.
