About MorningStar of Longmont

MorningStar Senior Living of Longmont (also known as Balfour at Longmont) is an assisted living and independent living community in Longmont, Colorado. The facility accommodates residents across different care levels, including a dedicated memory care wing called "The Range" for those with advancing cognitive needs.

Families consistently praise the staff's genuine compassion and responsiveness. One family noted that caregivers "provided patience, dignity, love, support, encouragement, and companionship" to residents while reassuring families. Multiple reviewers highlighted individual staff members by name, Zita, Sherry, Kellaway, Kolby, Grayson, Jesse, and Eli among them, for going beyond routine care. Food quality earned specific mention, with one family saying they "never hesitated to eat there" during regular visits. The community's physical environment, including indoor aesthetics and outdoor spaces, was noted as pleasant and well-maintained. Families also valued the integrated model allowing independent and assisted living residents to remain together as care needs changed, and appreciated the staff's attention to personal milestones and end-of-life care.

To our friends at Morningstar in Longmont:

The care and compassion you all have shown Melinda, and our entire family, is remarkable. We’re understandably very sad that she has declined so quickly, but we are all so grateful she was cared for under such a competent and professional group of dedicated, genuinely compassionate people. We are in awe of the kind, and quality, of people that can do this day in and day out - especially in the memory care environment. Truly a blessing.

Every individual we worked with from the very beginning has been wonderful. That’s uncommon when dealing with any organization that truly is in service to people. Allison, Stevie, Judy, Christie, Kellaway, the therapists and all the rest of the staff have simply been great. Great! The Bloom group has also been so professional and conscious of keeping us informed and educated. A big thank you to April and Darci, especially during the hospice period.

Bottom Line: Kudos to the entire staff at Morningstar.

You hear and read so many negative things surrounding the care of the elderly in the world today. Particularly in the dementia and Alzheimers space. At the outset I had some real reservations and concerns in that regard - mostly from stories of friends and relatives who had such poor experiences with “senior care”. (Not to mention what can be read online, which is always suspect and often biased - regardless of the topic). So, it is just incredibly nice to have had the complete opposite experience with your organization. We can’t thank you all enough.

Sincerely,

Mark, Jeanie, Michelle & Hannah

The work they do is far more than a profession. Day after day, they provided patience, dignity, love, support, encouragement, and companionship to residents, while also offering reassurance to families who entrust their loved ones to their care. I witnessed countless acts of kindness, both large and small, that brought comfort and joy to my Mom and gave me peace of mind. Whether it was a warm smile, a gentle touch, a shared laugh, or simply taking a few extra moments to brighten her day, those gestures meant more than you will ever know.
Memory care requires not only skill and dedication but also tremendous compassion. We are profoundly grateful for the warmth, respect, and genuine concern everyone there showed Mom throughout her journey. Knowing she was surrounded by people who truly cared for her was an incredible gift to me and my family.. We will always remember the kindness and the loving care they provided to our mother. Barbara's life was a blessing to all who knew her, and we are deeply grateful that, in her final years, she was cared for by such a remarkable group of people.

Horrible staff.Rude.I would not recommend this facility to anyone. My father was left in souled bedding for hours ,and the room had a constant unbearable odor of urine. The female manager ( tall) dresses like a hippie is rude. The handymen are rude unfriendly people. You can tell in each otlf them how much they hate their Jobs.
When you arrive is a group of ladies talking with each other ignoring residents families and very unprofessional way to communicate. The caregivers are exhausted. They don't care .The management is the worst here.Im glad my father move to my house where he can be happy .The food is cold .The qmaps are exhausted. If you love your family keep them with you .This place is a lot of money for a bad service .Their faces are " angry faces" sagging cheeks turned down corners of the mouth death faces giving a sense of being perpetually annoyed or unapproachable .the only value person here is Lisa the lady is a happy person the rest must be fired

People careful with your loved ones I went to report a employee and Christy or Chrissy didn't want to hear me out she said she couldn't discuss anything with me i think its was important to discuss that being said she did not put the safety of the residents first there is a employee that has a assault charge from last yr and has hurt another person badly i think they should due back ground checks before they hire someone to work with the elderly this is to the person that did not want to hear me out the Balfour assistant living facility P.S I dont think they are concern about the residents if they were they would of heard me out and looked into it
