This isn’t my first time in a skilled nursing facility due to amputations on my feet, however this is by far ran by the most compassionate people I have ever met light years ahead of other facilities that I will not mention. First of all I’d like to call out a few of the CNAs for the immense amount of care and support they have given me since being here, that would be Stephanie, Marina, Denise, Tia, Maria, Crystal, Natalie, and Terri just to name a few but these ladies have been miraculous in their own ways and for the amount care and attention they give to these patients not just myself. The therapy’s staff have also been working extremely attentively with myself and others to try and rehabilitate us to the point where we can safely and confidently get around and just be more independent all around. Even the house keepers are extremely nice and friendly specifically Angel, Barbara, Nathan, and Ronda. The nursing crew are also top tier in their own respective ways, I can’t stress enough the care and respect they have for these patients, there’s a lot of names to list but I’d like to give a specific shout out to Babette, Alycia, and Lurlean. The social workers Holly & Amy have been an absolute tag team in making sure that I was able to feel safe and mentally prepared to go home. Usually when you come to a facility like this you’ll hear horror stories of how badly the patients are treated and abused, but honestly it’s been a breath of fresh air to be in a facility where literally all of the staff go above and beyond for the residents that they care for, I’m over 100 miles from my own home in east TN but if I had a choice to choose where I wanted to go for rehabilitation Monroe Health & Rehab is the only choice I would recommend….

I recently stayed at Monroe Health & Rehabilitation for several weeks while recovering from my fifth rotator cuff surgery, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to recover.<br><br>The first thing I noticed was how well every patient is cared for. The staff are kind, respectful, and work incredibly hard to make sure everyone's needs are met with a positive attitude. While everyone deserves recognition, Stephanie, Marie, Natalie, and Shelby really stood out. They were constantly checking on patients, answering call lights, helping with personal care, and making sure everyone was comfortable. They rarely had time to sit because they stayed so focused on patient care.<br><br>Sometimes call lights took a little longer to be answered, but I quickly realized it was because they always handled the most urgent situations first. Every patient was treated fairly, with no favoritism, and everyone's needs were met as quickly as possible.<br><br>Marie especially impressed me because she would even come in on her days off to take patients who had no family or support system to doctor appointments. Stephanie would often cut her breaks short just to make sure patients were taken care of. Every day I saw Natalie, Shelby, Marie, Stephanie, and the rest of the staff checking on patients countless times throughout the day.<br><br>The staff also made sure patients stayed clean by assisting with showers and personal hygiene. They encouraged everyone to get out of their rooms, socialize, and stay active. I also appreciated that patients who can safely operate electric wheelchairs are allowed to use them, something many facilities don't allow.<br><br>Patients are able to enjoy fresh air several times a day under staff supervision, whether they smoke or not. Safety always comes first, but they still make sure everyone has the opportunity to get outside.<br><br>There are plenty of activities, including bingo, church services, gospel and bluegrass music, and many others that keep patients engaged.<br><br>The food is typical healthcare facility food, but the dietary staff go above and beyond. They ask about your likes and dislikes, and if you don't like something, they'll gladly prepare something else. They assist patients who need help eating and make sure everyone gets a good meal. The dietary staff were always friendly.<br><br>Physical therapy was excellent. I only wish the sessions were longer, but that's due to insurance, not the facility. The therapists are highly skilled and worked on much more than just my shoulder. My only suggestion would be expanding the therapy room.<br><br>The facility has separate halls for long-term care and short-term rehabilitation, which helps meet each patient's needs. Housekeeping was friendly, laundry was done for patients, and the shared rooms were clean and included a TV, closet, and handicap-accessible bathroom. I would like to see the bathrooms made a little larger for wheelchair users.<br><br>Families can visit until 8 PM, bring snacks and drinks, and patients can order food from restaurants or receive online package deliveries, which helps make the stay feel more like home.<br><br>I'd also like to recognize the facility supervisor, social services, HR, and everyone behind the scenes. It's clear they care about patient satisfaction and providing quality care.<br><br>Recovering from my fifth rotator cuff surgery wasn't easy, but Monroe Health & Rehabilitation made the experience much better. Their compassion, professionalism, excellent therapy, and genuine dedication to patients made a lasting impression. I would confidently recommend Monroe Health & Rehabilitation to anyone needing short-term rehabilitation or long-term care.
