About Mirador Retirement Community

Mirador is a nonprofit, faith-based senior living community in Corpus Christi, Texas, serving the Coastal Bend region. Operated by an organization with over 60 years of faith-based service in Texas and governed by a volunteer board, the community prioritizes its mission to honor and serve older adults as an expression of Christ's love.

The community offers a continuum of care including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support for those dealing with Alzheimer's and dementia, Long-Term Care with highly trained clinicians available around-the-clock, and Short-term Rehabilitation services. What the director did to my family is wrong and heartbreaking.

Beautiful place. However, the case manager was misleading when I toured. It’s as if she was only interested in our finances. My mom needs a place to heal after two complicated surgeries that left her in need of total care. My parents have great insurance and supplemental coverage. Initially a pleasant visit, until the finances and length of intended stay were discussed. Suddenly, they had no rooms despite learning from a CNA in my presence that three rooms had become available. The case manager quickly relented and stated the rooms would not be available to my mom because they were to be held for residents who may need them, they are priority. I felt discouraged and observed her attitude/demeanor to shift from cordial representative to condescending indifference. I felt she misrepresented what seemed like an awesome place. The location and services were ideal for my mom. The care and pleasant atmosphere seemed to be just what she needed to heal. However, I’ve researched this facility and that case manager won’t even take calls from other case managers who are attempting to send referrals. She’s a nightmare and my mom has to settle because she is blocking “certain” people from being admitted. I wish her bosses were aware, unless they condone that type of representation. What a waste of time.
