Thank you to the nursing staff for their pain management expertise. Also, the wound care staff got noticeable results. Thank you to the doctors and their staff. The "We don't make appointments" philosophy that permeates the physical therapy department left me never knowing day to day just who I was seeing and when. While the patient handbook said i had the right to say no when I deemed it necessary, I was met with threats of being discharged. Being a Trauma patient with multiple wounds i was in considerable pain. The no appointment policy did not allow for the coordination of administering pain meds prior to the physical therapy session. Melissa & Ernest worked miracles with problem solving expertise. Thanks to all others, housekeeping, nutrition, Social services & MICHAEL (maintenance)! Sincerely, Mr Fischer

Shout out to Sandy Ramon for helping take such good care of my mom! Every concern I have she has listened and went out of her way to make the problem better. I know my mom is taken care of when she works! She’s an amazing nurse and I’m so thankful for her and the weekend crew!

It is with great gratitude that I write this review for Cimmaron Place here in Corpus Christi, TX. When it was time to search out long term care for my loved one I had a choice of three facilities, contracted with the VA, to evaluate. I received a text message from a dear friend in the nursing industry letting me know that Cimmaron Place had been awarded their VA contract. It was a difficult decision to start the evaluation process, as I had hoped to be able to continue as their caregiver at home, but I decided to visit the facility here that week and was VERY warmly received. I met with Joyce Ybanez, the Director of Admissions, who answered ALL of my questions, shared with me the admissions process and gave me a tour of their facility. It was clean, with wide corridors and employees that looked to be enjoying their jobs. It truly checked all of the boxes of the list, LITERALLY, I came in with. I proceeded with the necessary paperwork and within a week we had been accepted and we moved in the following week. While they share a room with another veteran it’s not a cramped space. I was able to bring in their personal recliner from home, a small refrigerator and a TV. Each resident has their own closet, dresser and night stand. It feels like a warm, inviting and safe space. To the staff-my deepest appreciation goes to each member of the care team here…Jessica and Leo, the RN’s are the epitome of professionals. They are NEVER too busy to answer a question or update me on my loved ones condition, any med changes, etc. My true hero’s here have to be the CNA’s, the caregivers that CONSISTENTLY check in to make sure he is are comfortable, clean, have eaten their meal, need to be repositioned…anything needed by my loved one OR BY ME. Mackey, Baby, Tristen, Andy…. and any I may have missed. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. You allow me to go home each evening, knowing that my loved one is safe and cared for. PT is also here daily, and I appreciate all that Henry does to keep my loved one active and strong. Dee and her dietary team work EXCEPTIONALLY HARD daily to make sure the residents here have fresh nutritious meals that are hot and, yes, tasty. I was surprised at both the quality/taste and variety of the meals served. The maintenance team here, both Mike and David, made sure we were moved in and set up with everything we needed, tv included 😊. And lastly I had the opportunity to meet the Administrator here, Ernest, who recently came here from one of the other one of the VA contracted nursing homes. I can tell he is greatly respected by the staff here. One of the team members here shared a story of how he stepped up to make sure everyone was fed one day when they were short staffed, and I could tell there was a genuine level of respect and appreciation between everyone. It’s a wonderful environment for everybody, and mostly for the residents, because when the providers/staff here are taken care of our family members are taken care of, and that’s what is most important. For anyone needing skilled nursing or long-term care for their loved one, please consider this facility. They have made a very difficult decision much much easier, and I am deeply indebted to every one of them for all of the care and kindness they have extended to my family.
