I would not recommend McNaughton Pointe to anyone.

Before my mom was transferred there, several people told me they would not recommend the facility. Only one person who had stayed there told me it wasn’t all bad. During my tour, I mentioned to the staff member showing me around that I had heard mostly negative things about the facility. She responded that they had good reviews through Medicare or Medicaid can’t remember, which one she said.

My mom was transferred there on a Wednesday. Her very first meal was incorrect. She was supposed to be on a minced and moist diet, but they served her regular food. Thankfully, my brother was there and noticed the mistake. We had to tell the staff that she was not supposed to have regular food before they corrected it.

We were told my mom was stable when she was transferred, and her bloodwork on her first day there reportedly came back normal. Then, just two days later, we were told she had gone into cardiac arrest and passed away. It was a devastating shock to our family.

What has been especially frustrating is what happened afterward. While my mom was alive, the facility had no problem allowing me to make decisions regarding her care. However, after her death, when I requested her medical records, I was told I would need a court order to obtain them.

This was a heartbreaking experience, and based on what my family went through, I cannot recommend this facility.

Let phone ring for 10 minutes, no answer. Been hung up on several times. My brother was dirty last time I visited him. Dirt under his nails, nails need trimming. G-d please don't let me end up here. Left message for director about a month ago, he never called me back.

6-2-26. Held for 15 minutes twice today. No answer. Needs to be an option for zero stars.
