My father has been at McCormick House in assisted living for a year. His Catholic faith is important to him and being able to attend mass and a daily rosary gives him great peace of mind. Staff greet him warmly by name and always welcome us. They respond to our concerns and try to resolve issues as they arise. The food is good, he enjoys the meals especially the camaraderie with others. Meals could improve with more fresh fruit, vegetables and whole grains. The facility appears well maintained and clean. His room cleanliness could improve as he is 100 and struggles with personal hygiene resulting in an unclean room at times. When we ask staff for help in addressing this issue they do respond. Overall it has been a good move for our father, giving us peace of mind that he is well cared for and protected. It is not perfect but the staff do a good job caring for our father.
