Mc Kenzie House

McKenzie House Apartments is an independent living community for seniors and people with disabilities located in downtown Burlington, Vermont. The community consists of 36 federally assisted apartments designed for eligible low-income residents seeking independent living in a friendly and close-knit environment.

All units are one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments featuring a spacious living room. The building includes on-site amenities such as laundry facilities, a community room with a kitchen and sitting area, and a screened-in porch for gathering. First-floor units are ADA adaptable with fully accessible access routes. Utilities, on-site parking, garbage removal, grounds maintenance, and snow plowing are all included in residency.

McKenzie House provides a community garden that the landlord prepares and roto-tills annually, and staff and residents organize seasonal activities throughout the year. A voluntary Resident Association meets monthly. Twenty-four-hour on-call maintenance services are available through O'Brien Brothers.

The community is conveniently located in downtown Burlington, just a block from Church Street Marketplace and a short walk from Lake Champlain. It is within minutes of the GMT transit station, providing easy access to the Greater Burlington area.

Pets are allowed with a reference check, a $300 pet deposit, and a pet interview. The community does not provide on-site medical services, meals, nursing staff, or personal care.
